Puck stared at Moppet curiously, a bit confused. She seemed very...tense, and he could practically hear her thoughts in his own mind. She seemed quite anxious to know about this particular subject, which confused Puck, as he didn't really know why it was so important. Deciding that her reasons were her own business, the boy merely shrugged.
"No...not that I know of," Puck answered. "I mean, I don't think that the school would be thrilled about it, but there are lots of kids here that take jobs. It's no big deal, so long as you're not working in some place that illegal or anything," Puck laughed, jokingly.

"Oh.", she said letting all her anxiety out in one big sigh. She remained silent for a moment before continuing. "So what did you mean earlier about Not having to worry about money now that you can use magic?". She had already guessed what he had meant but wanted to hear him say it before she corrected him, just in case he meant something else.

Puck thought for a moment, then shrugged again. "Well, I mean...I don't really have a need for it. Everything I absolutely have to have can be conjured easily. Like this," Puck explained, snapping his fingers and instantly refiling his glass with water.
"And, there isn't much material need that I deal with. I've got pretty much everything I need for right now," Puck said, sitting back with a smile.

Moppet gazed at his glass in amazement, unable to say anything right away. Then she said, "How did you do that!?". She had never really seen that kind of magic before and it astounded her. Secretly she hoped that he would teach her that kind of magic in exchange for her teaching him her type of magic. Now that she had seen both she realized that they could both be useful, but for different tasks. You couldn't 'conjure' a substance using her type of magic, but hers seemed to be more powerful and exact in other areas than Pucks.

Puck smirked a little at her amazement, leaning forward on his elbows on the table. Before he could respond, however, their waitress returned with a check, which Puck happily paid and thanked the girl for. When she'd left, Puck smiled back at Moppet.
"Come on, let's get back to the school. I'll tell you on the way."
Once they were outside, Puck strolled nonchalantly, taking his time about telling the girl. He liked to keep people in suspense. "It's not all that amazing, really," he conceded, smirking. "It took me months to be able to do something as simple as that. It'll take a lot more practice before I can summon something really big. I used to have to say spells to get something like that to appear, but since it's easier to conjure than most things, I no longer need them. But to get to that point, you of course have to master the spell part." Turning back to her with a mischievous smile, Puck asked, "Would you like to learn how?"

"Of course I would.", she replied with her pleasant smile. "One question though. You said something about a spell earlier but you didn't use one. I mean I've seen people barely move their lips and speak almost inaudibly when casting a spell so that other people don't know what their doing but you never even uttered a word when you conjured that water. So how did you use a spell?

Puck furrowed his eyebrows for a second, trying to think of a proper way to reply. "Well, for that particular trick, I didn't need one. See, I've practiced it enough that I can merely think it, and it will work. Perhaps I didn't explain that clearly."
Smiling, Puck thought to himself for a moment, pausing mid stride. Closing his eyes for a moment, he turned his attention to a tree, and began to softly chant something in a foreign tongue. The air picked up around him, and as he opened his eyes and mouth, a glowing beam shot forth and struck the plant. Flowers slowly began to bloom on it's branches. Smiling at his handiwork, Puck dusted off his hands, turning back to Moppet.
"And that is how I use a spell."

Moppet was awestruck at the sudden burst of energy that occurred when Puck used a spell. It was so...different from the way her type of magic looked. It was forceful and abrasive, and he was just making flowers grow and bloom on a tree! "Oh.", was all she could say. Suddenly she had an idea. She strode over to the base of the tree and bent down and examined the ground with her mind until she had found what she wanted. Bringing it to the surface she picked it up and walked back over to Puck.
Slowly she began to sing in an ethereal voice like that of a siren, "Hin abr du kemen, loa un loth un onr lass abr laure un onr loth du van celeb abr silme. Loa un erulisse abr edhel. Kemen un abr un lifa! Meleth du ithil un elen un tuilinn un nen fre du sir. Waise thalion un abr orna. Lifa un kemen un abr! Kemen un abr! Kemen un abr! Kemen un abr.". Over and over again she sang her song and as she did a plant grew out from the center of her palm where there was a seed. It grew slowly and steadily. It had a golden stem and leaves, and a silver flower, like moonlight, grew at the top of the stem, while thin, hair-like white roots grew from the bottom.
Moppet's voice began to fade until she fell silent. Her hair was longer and had turned silver. It shone with the light of a thousand of stars. She opened her eyes and blinked in the sunlight, but instead of her usual emerald eyes that could bore into your soul, her eyes glowed white hot. It made her even more beautiful and frightening than ever before. But despite that she seemed to be able to see perfectly fine. She looked down at the flower she grew and delicately touched its petals.
When she finally spoke she was still using her siren voice. "Simbelmyne. It only grows of the graves of the Kings of Rohan, that is unless you use magic.". She paused and looked at Puck before continuing."Do not be afraid because of my altered appearance. I will return to my human form, hopefully.".
She stood before Puck looking like a Goddess and waited for him to respond.

Puck's eyes widened, his breath catching in his throat as he stared at the now changed Moppet. He'd never seen anything like that before...and it was beyond amazing. Cautiously, the boy took a step closer to the girl, slowly reaching out to touch her now silver hair.
"How did you..." Puck shook his head, smiling a little. "That was amazing. But, your voice...just where did you learn all that from?"

"I did not do it, nor did I learn it. It was a gift bestowed on me by a race of elves that trained me in the use of their magic. It happens because of the amount of power and meaning I can wield with one simple word, and when I put together many words to make a spell the magic changes me so that I can channel it better. I cannot control it and cannot predict when it will happen and how long it will last and it does not happen every time I use magic. All I know is that it is happening more often and lasting longer each time I use magic. The elves have predicted that soon this will be my permanent form and all chance of my having a normal life will be gone. My name will also change. No more will I be known as Moppet, except to closest friends, but I will become Valwen, as was decided by the elves.", she said in her silvery voice which now held hints of sorrow and regret, as well as joy and contentment.
Moppet, or more correctly Valwen, as she was known by in this form, turned and began to leave but stopped, gesturing to Puck to follow her saying, "Come, we must return to the school before we are missed."

Puck stared after the girl, unsure what to make of what she'd just told him. He didn't know whether he should feel sorry for her or what, as he couldn't really tell whether or not she was glad about her situation.
"Wait, wait," he said, stopping to put an arm on her shoulder. Different looking or not, she was still Moppet to him, so he smiled. "Don't you think that you might...attract a crowd in there? You have...changed quite a bit."

As soon as Puck's hand came into contact with her shoulder, a bolt of energy from Valwen shot through him, knocking him to the ground. Something like this had never happened before and it frightened her. Bending down to make sure he was not severely injured, she was careful not to touch him, but the hem of her dress fell across his arm. She expected another bolt of energy to leave her and go racing through Puck but nothing happened, just like nothing happened when he touched her hair. It seemed that this only happened when he touched her skin(her cloths had changed along with the rest of her and she now wore a long white gown with silver trim and embroidery, and sleeves that hung off her shoulders and came back and flowed down past he knees, leaving her shoulders exposed).
Leaning over she whispered into Pucks ear. "Puck, puck! Are you alright?!" There was apparent concern in her voice, but it was still full of magic.

Puck was taken off guard by the sudden attack, falling back to the ground with a thud. Wincing at the pain, the elf rubbed his head, swearing that he could see stars as he blinked away the darkness. "Hell...what did I do to piss you off?" He muttered, though his words were not directed at Moppet. Rather, they were sent up towards the sky, which he was squinting now to see under the brightness of the sun.
Glancing back at Moppet, a lopsided grin formed, and Puck nodded. "Yeah, I'm fine. But, uh...what the heck was that?"

"I-I don't know. That's never happened before and it seems that it only happens when you touch my skin because you touched my hair earlier and you're touching my dress now.", the concern in her voice was apparent as she now spoke. "Oh Puck, I'm so sorry! I'll try to be more careful from now on, I really don't want this to happen ever again! I do hope you will forgive me.", she said as she looked down into his eyes. Even though her eyes were glowing you could still see emotion in them. Her eyes were seemed to be pleading with him.
So that she could help him off the ground, Valwen turned and removed a pair of silver and white gloves that covered her arms past the elbows. Donning the gloves she reached out her hand to Puck and said, "Don't worry, it should be safe.", and waited for him to take it.

Puck cautiously grabbed her hand, holding the other out to balance himself. Thankfully, he didn't seem to have any lasting damage from the attack. "Hey, hey, it's alright, honest. I'm fine, Moppet," he laughed, shaking his head at her apologies.
"Nothing too serious," he smirked, rapping the side of his head with his knuckles. Teasingly, he added, "No need to be over-dramatic. But, we should probably be heading back to our dorms before something else happens."
