"Oh, never. And you can't really reverse it, you can just stop it, like this.", and with that Moppet withdrew completely form Puck's mind. It was so strange that while you were connected to someone's mind you didn't really notice it that much, but when you completely withdrew it was so apparent. It felt like there was something missing. You felt completely alone. With the absence of Pucks mind, Moppet felt a kind of emptiness in her mind, a sense of isolation.
Moppet waited for Pucks response before she would reestablish their link.

Puck blinked, the sudden change rendering speechless for a moment. It was an odd feeling now that she was "gone," and it made him feel...almost lonely. He had no idea why, seeing as how he'd done just fine without her before. Perhaps it was the sudden loss of extra magic radiating from her that made him feel strange.
"I understand more clearly now, I think," he nodded, looking back to Moppet curiously. "I think that I would be alright now, if you want to...join us again."

"Wonderful!", she said as their minds merged again and she felt the loneliness and isolated feeling leave her. With things back to "normal" again, she began to eat her food. She started with the vegetables. She put a bite in her mouth and said, "Oh your right, this is excellent!", into his mind so that she didn't seem rude.

Puck sat up a bit straighter as she spoke into his mind again, a bit surprised. It was something he'd have to get used to, but it was still interesting, none the less. And possibly even amusing. It was possible that the trickster could possibly cause some mischief this way, if not with Moppet than with others.
Grinning at the thought, Puck nodded in response to the girl, beginning to eat some of the vegetables himself. But, unlike Moppet, his vegetables made up his entire meal, being vegetarian as he was.

Sensing Puck's new idea about using links to cause trouble, Moppet stopped eating and spoke to Puck in a firm, almost angry voice, "I did not show you how to do this so that you can cause other people to do things for your enjoyment! You must NEVER use this kind of mental link to control another person unless they are about to do something to hurt other people or themselves or unless it is absolutely necessary. Am I understood?"

Puck gave the girl a confused look, eyes widening at the firmness to her words. Oh man, this link thing was definitely going to take some getting used to. What if he accidentally thought something that made her angry in the future? There was no telling what the girl might do. Puck had thought Moppet to be fairly quiet before, but he was slowly beginning to realize that she wasn't as big of a pushover as he'd thought.
"Alright, alright, calm down," Puck said, holding out his hands to try and calm her down. "No pranks. Got it. Sorry." Thinking for a minute, Puck gave the girl a lopsided smile, attempting to put her in a better mood. "God, heaven forbid if I ever think something rude about you," he teased.

With that Moppet burst out laughing. His sense of humor was so much like hers. And here I thought that I was the only person in this world with a sense of humor like this. Well, I guess I learn something every day. Turning to Puck she said,"Yes, Heaven help you if you ever do. So what all do you actually know about magic anyway? I mean, what rules about magic do you know?, do you know where it comes from?, or what kinds of magic require more energy than others?, etc., that kind of stuff."
Moppet had to know exactly what he knew before she could even begin to teach him, and she didn't want to search through his memories and knowledge to find out, even with his permission, seeing as how he still wasn't used to the whole "mental link" thing.

Puck sat back for a minute, appreciating the fact that she wasn't digging through his brain to find the answer. He much preferred to give answers when he pleased, and of his own free will. "I've done a lot of research, and I've always sort of believed in magic, even before I got my powers," he shrugged. "See, I'm Wiccan, and most of us believe in spells anyway. To my knowledge, and my belief, magic comes from Pan and the Triple Goddess. We are all merely vessels for the energy, and it's up to use to use it for good...or for bad."
Puck seriously doubted she would be, but he nonetheless hoped inside that Moppet wouldn't be judgmental about his religion. As if prejudices against his orientation weren't enough; the poor fellow had also to deal with those who disapproved of his beliefs!

"Oh. Well,... that is a very different type of magic than what I use, and I don't want to get into a religious debate about where magic comes from. I respect your religious beliefs and I'll try to make sure none of your lessons...um...go against your religion or offend you. I think it will be best if we leave religion out of it though."
Moppet was having trouble communicating what she wanted to say in words so she lowered the boundaries in her mind and allowed her emotions and thoughts to flow to Puck so that he could understand what she meant.
"I was trained by a race of elves and the type of magic we use comes from the Earth. There is wild magic that appears in nature in strange ways. It causes floating islands and things like that. And there is magic that has been tamed and can be controlled by the use of the True Language and Real Names."

Puck was about to say something in regards to her comment about leaving religion out of it, seeing as how he didn't really think that was possible what with his views, but held his tongue. She was probably right, anyway, even if she didn't believe what he thought to be true.
"I...I'm afraid I don't understand," Puck said, blinking. "I've never heard of some of these things...but I'm sure you're going to tell me," he smirked. "From what I know, elves are a race similar to faes, and they're often confused. Some doubt there's even a difference, and I'm not too sure what it is myself. But I do know one thing...there's a teacher here who's a fae, and I bet he would probably know what it is you're talking about." The boy spoke in a hushed whisper, not wanting to draw attention to their conversation.

"To be honest, I've stayed with elves and faes, and I have yet to find any apparent difference. I think the difference is how they came into being but I really don't feel like having that discussion right now.", Moppet said in a hushed tone.
"So, who is this teacher and can you introduce me to him? I'd really like to meet him!", Moppet raised her voice a little without meaning to and looked around embarrassed.

Puck smiled a little at the girl's embarrassment, nodding in response. "I'd love to introduce you to.." Puck froze suddenly, a blush on his face as he realized just who he would be introducing her to. Jareth. Oh boy... He wasn't sure if he'd be able to do that without getting shaky in the knees.
"His name's Jareth," Puck said, shaking his head and clearing his throat sheepishly. "I think you'll like him...he's really...interesting."

"Oh, that sounds nice.", she said brushing aside the sensations coming from Puck. How he felt about other people was none of her concern, for now at least. But she couldn't really help noticing Pucks feelings, since they were linked, and it was very hard to ignore something inside your head, especially when it is something you want to ignore. Like a thought that you have that you don't want to have but you can't help thinking it.
Thinking fast to change the subject she asked, "So, do you have a job or do you just sort of volunteer for stuff?".

Puck silently prayed that the girl hadn't been able to notice the feelings he'd had about the Mythology teacher. Puck couldn't say that he'd ever really had any sort of feelings of attraction like this towards anyone but his current boyfriend, and he wanted desperately for them to go away, seeing as how they were fairly embarrassing. But alas, Puck still had yet learned the truth about Jareth and himself.
"Um...I don't really have any sort of job," Puck shrugged, leaning back a little in his chair. "My parents used to pay for everything, but now..." Puck frowned for a moment, then gave a small smirk. "I've got my magic, so I don't really have use for money."

Moppet momentarily shrugged off his last statement (she would come back to that later) and asked, "But it is OK if you do have a job isn't it? I mean, there aren't any rules against it or anything?". She so desperately needed to know the answer and Puck seemed to be taking his time answering.
Moppet was getting very anxious and hoped Puck wouldn't notice. She had always been very good at acting and could make it appear like nothing was wrong with her on the outside, while on the inside she could be screaming and no one would know it. But when you have a mental link with someone, or even if your just scanning your surroundings for a threat, it is very hard to hide your emotions.
