Moppet had to laugh. Puck was definitely right, the shinigami was clueless. But he did mean well. Unfortunately some of the worst crimes were committed with the best intentions.
"So, are you hungry? I could really go for some Chinese food right now.", she said with a grin. Moppet had skipped breakfast this morning and really needed to eat something to keep her blood sugar up. If she didn't, she would faint.

"That sounds like a great idea," Puck laughed, nodding. "Hey, if you want, I could probably sneak us off of school grounds. There's a great Chinese restaurant real close to here," Puck suggested, grinning mischievously. He wasn't sure just how his friends would react to him leaving the school for awhile to go and have lunch with some girl he'd just met an hour ago, especially after his little ordeal in Biology, but the boy was itching to get out of this room. Beside, he could use the fresh air.

Laughing she said, "That sounds great! So what time does school end anyway? And are you aloud to leave for lunch?". Moppet had so many questions that she wanted and every new topic they discussed brought up even more. But they would have to wait for now, her stomach overruled her thoughts. It was then that she realized that because of their link, her emotions and desires were influencing Puck, as well as the other way around. I need to be more careful from now on. This isn't really serious, but next time it might be. Puck wasn't even hungry before I formed our link, but now because of me he is. Who knows what might happen if I became angry at someone and had an urge to do something stupid. Normally, Puck might try to stop me but if I'm influencing him like this he might go along with it. This link gives me the power. Power to influence him in ways that no one should be able to. Power that I don't want. I could completely change the way he sees the world, and how he feels about certain things. I have to guard myself better from now on.
Moppet had never had that kind of power before, and it scared her. She was determined not to let herself to affect Puck like that, ever. He was an individual person with his own thoughts and feeling, and that was how it should be.

Puck only smiled, not understanding any of the complex thoughts going on in Moppet's mind. All he knew was that he was suddenly very hungry, and wished to leave.
"Well, classes end at three o'clock; then we're free to do what we want. Though we're really supposed to stay on school grounds, I really don't think that principal Q will care," Puck snorted, rolling his eyes with another smile. "Come on then, let's get going," he said, holding open the door for Moppet to exit.

Puck was such a gentleman! It still surprised her how polite he was because all the men she had know were absolute jerks! It was so refreshing to have someone be polite to her for a change instead of being seen as just a dumb blond or a possession that you could do whatever you wanted to.
Moppet exited the room and waited for Puck to take the lead; he knew where they were going, not her. When the finally set off she tried to think of something, anything, interesting to say (she was trying to avoid that awkward silence that so often fell between two people that didn't know each other very well.). Unable to think of anything, she waited for him to say something.

Walking along with her towards the exit of the school building, Puck kept his hands behind his back, trying to think of something to say. As Moppet had chosen to remain silent for the moment, it looked as though he'd have to be the conversation starter. It suddenly occurred to him that the two knew very little about each other, but for some reason, he felt a bit otherwise about that. He felt almost as though he did know her, but he didn't know why. He'd never met her in all his life, as far as he could remember.
"So," he began, smirking. "Just where exactly did you come from? Not to be rude, but...I don't even know what grade you're in!" Puck laughed.

Moppet laughed and said, "I'm a senior. And as for where I'm from, well, I wish I could tell you but I don't even really know myself!". She lied. True, she was a senior, but she had a pretty good idea where she was from, and she could use magic to find out for sure, but the truth was that she didn't want to know for certain. She had always heard rumors about her parents and where she was from, but she didn't want them to be true. Besides, if the rumors were true, she would have to face her father eventually and she wasn't ready, so she thought it best just to leave well enough alone, until now.
Now that Puck had brought the subject up she felt an emptiness inside her, a longing to know. All she needed to do was utter the spell and she would know, but was she strong enough?

Puck blinked back at the girl in surprise. A senior??? And here he'd thought that he was older than her all this time. Feeling a bit sheepish, he cleared his throat as he finished listening to the rest of her explanation, frowning slightly as she told him how she really didn't know where she was from. Figuring that she must have felt like keeping some things to herself, Puck smiled, and replied, "Hmm, interesting. Well, I suppose that it's only fair if I say where I'm from as well. I grew up in Manhattan, and got sent here by my...parents."
Puck faltered for a moment in his speech, looking off in the distance for a moment. A brief lapse of memory had occurred, sending the boy back for a moment to the previous winter vacation. He'd been kicked out of his parents' home that day, and so now his tuition was being paid for by the Xanatos'. Puck didn't mind so much, as it had been a long time, but the pain from the experience still bothered him slightly when brought up in conversation.

"Ah, I've never been to Manhattan. Is it nice? Is it true that there are no trees there?". Moppet had so many questions but she hoped that there were trees in Manhattan. She had wanted to go there for years but someone had told her there no trees there and the idea of staying somewhere that there were no trees was mortifying, but she didn't really know why. She had never been terribly attached to trees but for some reason she couldn't even imagine living without them.
Now that she thought about it, there were a great many things that she "didn't really know why". It was a depressing thought. She had always thought that she knew a great many things but now she realized that she didn't. Oh, well. There's nothing i can do about it now. It doesn't really matter anyway..
"I've always wanted to go to Manhattan.", she said with a far off look. She always had her head in the clouds, thinking of some far off place that she would probably never get to go to.

Puck raised an eyebrow at the girl's questions, laughing just a bit. "There are some trees, but most of them are in little fences and planted by public officials," Puck said, rolling his eyes. Truth be told, he wasn't all that fond of most of the aspects of Manhattan, such as the limited space and lack of forestry.
As they reached the exit, Puck once again held open the door for Moppet, smiling. "Trust me, it's highly overrated. But, hey, it's home. And my family's there. The only drawback is, my parents and siblings are there as well," Puck explained, laughing. He no longer view his parents and siblings as his family(aside from Raven and Coyote, of course), but rather saw the Xanatos' and the "gargoyles" as his true home.

"Thank you.", she said as she stepped through the door. "Do go back to Manhattan for the holidays or do you stay here?", she asked with a smile. She hoped that he stayed there, she didn't have anywhere and she didn't want to be left here with no one she knew, except for maybe some teachers. But then again, if she could save enough money maybe she could go to Manhattan too, she would have to find somewhere to stay but at least she would know someone there.

Puck bit his lip, thinking the question over. "Well, I did last Christmas break, but due to some...complications, I won't be going back again anytime soon. At least not to my house. If I do go anywhere, it'll be only for a short time with my nephew and his family."
Alexander was as good as his nephew, anyway. He did call Puck "uncle." "But, there won't be any kind of vacation going on anytime soon that I'll be leaving for. And, I'm not sure if I'd even be going to Manhattan next. My boyfriend might be leaving to visit his sister instead, or something," Puck shrugged. If Clopin were to leave, then he'd definitely be going with him.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I've had my fair share of complications with my family. That's sort of why I'm here in the first place. But I never really knew my parents anyway. I was raised in a foster home by a rich young couple who wanted to "discover and utilize my true potential" so they put me in the best schools they could find, and when I found a guy I liked they sent me here because he was "distracting me from my work"., she said with a sigh.

Puck raised an eyebrow, surprised by the girl's forward explanation. "Ah, parents. Can't live with them...uh, that's all I got," he laughed. "I grew up with about twenty or so siblings in a mansion just big enough to fit my parents egos. We all got sent away to different boarding schools after a...bit of a misunderstanding, and then, when I went back for a Christmas visit, they kicked me out of the house."
Puck scowled, rolling his eyes at the memory. "Damn bigoted old man," he muttered under his breath.

"Ah, well, at least you know who your parents really are. I don't even know that much. All I know is every year on my birthday and Christmas I get some really rare or expensive gift and a card that says "Hope you have a wonderful day, your always in my thoughts. I look forward to the day we are reunited. All my love, Father."., she said scowling the whole time. She had a heavily sarcastic tone filled with contempt and bitterness.
"All I really know about my Father is that no matter where I go, he seems to know exactly where I am. It's rather disconcerting, once you think about it. And if he wants to be reunited with me so badly then why doesn't he come and see me, since he always knows where I am?". By now she had become very frustrated. Her Father always puzzled her, no matter what he did. He was a complete mystery.
