"Huh? Nothing, it's nothing." Kago lied, trying to keep Midori out of things for now. Another failure at lying, nice job.

"You suck at lying you know," Midori pointed out. She shurgged and shook her head, she thought that they where closer than lying to eachother.

Kago lightly smiled and shook his head. "Yeah, you're right there. Sorry, didn't mean to lie. I just...don't want to concern you..." Kago said, slightly depressed

"Hey now don't get all sad," Midori said freaking out slightly, "You don't have to tell me. Just don't lie."
She ran her hands nerviously threw her hair.

Kago could see Midori was bugged by how he was acting. He quickly tried to snap himself out of it. "Okay, I'll remember that." he said with a genuine smile

"Good," Midori said with a smile. She patted his shoulder and went back over to the fire. Placing her feet near it she leaned back on her hands.

Kago clenched his fists, deciding whether to tell Midori or not. Maybe if he did she'd be able to help. Besides, in the end it'd take a weapon to destroy the definite monster that killed his parents. "Hey, Midori...I think I should tell you what's up." Kago said as he walked over to her

"hmm?" Midori hummed as she wiggled her toes in the flame. She looked up at him, slightly confused. "Tell me what?" she asked.

"Tell you about what's bugging me. About..what happened to my parents. As my partner, you have a right to know." Kago said

"Didn't I just tell you that you didn't have too?" she asked, "Are you sure about it?" She didn't want Kago to be upset, he usually got touchy on the subject.

"I know I don't have to. I feel obliged though. If anything, as my friend listen." Kago said, sure he wanted to do it

"alright," Midori said smiling at him. She pulled her feet back from the fire and tucked them under her. "I'll listen," she said with a smile.

Kago took a seat next to Midori and quickly collected his thoughts. "All right...it was about ten years ago. I was still living here, in Death City with my parents. They'd never told me anything about them being assassins, and usually didn't leave me alone, especially when we went outside. One night, we were walking through the city, and I got distracted by a mouse that ran into an alleyway. I followed it, and my parents followed me, telling me to stop or that it was dangerous. The mouse ran into a shadowey part of the alley, and suddenly squeaked in pain. I looked into the shadow, and two giant red eyes were staring back at me. It was a Kishin, and right when it was about to attack, my mom grabbed me. She gave me to my father and held off the beast, but didn't once let me see it's face. My dad jumped up to the nearest rooftop and set me down, then said to stay there. He followed my mom into battle, and I tried following him. With my mom and dad having no weapons, they started losing quickly. Right when I made it down and was about to help, the Kishin killed my mom. My dad told me to stay back even though I was sure I could do something, but he persisted. Soon enough, the Kishin killed him too, and turned to me. I wasn't sure whether to run or fight. Luckily, Sid saved me but wasn't able to help my parents. He explained that they were assassins and what had happened, then brought me to the DWMA. And now, I've vowed to destroy the Kishin that killed my parents, along with every other Kishin out there." Kago explained in great detail

Midori frowned slightly, "I'm sorry bout that Kago...though I'm glad Sid saved you. It probably still hurts right?"
She forced a small smile. Kago's parents had been weaponless. That wasn't normal for meisters, the weapons where always close by unless dead or injured.

"Yeah, which is why I keep quiet about it. Don't talk about it, don't stay on the subject too long if it's brought up...But don't worry about it, I try not to." Kago said, trying to change the tone of things
