"The Yukai's and the Ka's along with some other families had a pact with eachother," Shiro said, "Since the Ka's delt with fire and the Yukai's seemed to be immune to the spirit fire that made up the being of the Ka clan. Anyways. It was usual for a Ka sword to be paired with a Yukai meister."

"But why are my people immune to your fire? I don't get it." Kago said. He understood the connection between the clans, just not why it was there.

"Basically the Ka's flames are our souls. You guys seemed to be resistance to the fire of ones heart," Shiro said, "My best guess is that your own souls act as a counter balance to ours. Thus giving us control over our powers and a way to escape burning up if we can't."

Midori placed the book on the side of her and smiled at Kago, "that helped huh?"

'Now I just need to find out what happened to my parents...' Kago thought to himself while he smiled. He didn't intend to show or tell her anything about that just yet.

Kago sat around thinking for a little while, then snapped out of things. He headed back to the dorm, consumed in his thoughts. He was more obsessed with things than ever, but right now it was more his issue than anyone else's.

It took Kago a while to notice Midori'd said something, but he finally did and looked over.
"Yeah, whatcha need?" he said with a very fake smile. Just let her know something's obviously wrong, brilliant Kago.

Midori raised her eyebrow and stood up from the fire. Walking over to him she gave a critial once over.
"What's wrong?" she asked.
