Midori placed a hand on Kago's shoulder, "Sorry...shouldn't have asked."
She smiled lightly and climbed up a ladder to search the high shelves.

Kago leaned against the shelf to wait, and tried to focus on something beside his parents. Problem was, he couldn't do it no matter what he thought of. Everything led him back to them for now. This was why he hated thinking of this, he became obsessed with the images of it once it came up.

"Hey Kago?" Midori asked pulling a book from a shelf, "You think this might help?"
She pulled it off and nearly dropped it.

Kago looked up and saw a pretty big book in Midori's hands.
"What's the title? I can't read it that well." Kago asked

"Through fire and flames," Midori said hopping down off the ladder. She held out the book to him.

Kago took it and dusted it off, it was old. Decades at least, centuries maybe. He had to wonder, how old WAS this school? It didn't matter for the time being though.
"Well, let's find out." he said as he walked over to a table and put it down, opening it up to the first page

Midori walked over with Kago and leaned forward on the table.
"You think we'll learn anything?" she asked.

"Not sure, but I got a good feeling about it..." Kago said as he read the page intently. "Hey, listen to this: this book retells the stories of the infamous Yukai Clan and their affiliated members or allies. These include pacts made with other clans, such as the Ka clan, a close ally...That's YOUR clan!" Kago read from the book

She leaned over the book adn tucked a piece of hair behind her ear.

"Yeah, no kidding. Makes me wonder if my parents ever met one of your parents..." Kago thought aloud. His parents were both meisters, and he'd never once met their weapons. They'd quit fighting Kishin to raise him to at least 9, so he could live easily on his own while they fought. But they died around 5 for him, fate changed those plans.
