Soul looked back and noticed Maka was sitting down in the snow. Had he pulled too harsh a move? He unlocked one foot and walked back up to her. "Hey, what's the matter?" he asked

"Snow in my clothes and mouth," Maka said not wanting to move so the snow would go further than it was already. She pulled off her hat and goggles to shake out the snow.

Soul felt bad about his move to gain the lead. He usually let his competitiveness get the better of him, so he did some bad things sometimes. "Aw, I'm sorry. Didn't mean to do that, just to slow you down some." he apologized

"It's fine," Maka said unzipping her jacket and slipping it off. She tied it around her waist and pulled back on her goggles and hat. Hopping up she started past him. "I'm going to beat you!" she yelled back as she picked up speed.

Soul's jaw dropped at her determination. She'd just pulled off her jacket in -15 degree weather and kept going. But then again, he liked that determination about her. "All right, let's go!" he said as he once again jumped on his board after strapping in. He couldn't lose at this, it was his element. He caught up quickly once again.

Maka smirked and disapeared into the trees. She zig-zaged threw them and came out further down the montain.

Soul went to the nearest ramp and jumped off it. He did a spin or two, and landed right in front of Maka once again since it was a majorly high jump. He smirked back at her. "I know this place too well to lose, with or without shortcuts." he said

Maka laughed, "Alright show off." She said leaning forward and speeding up. She went past him and kept going. Taking a turn she didn't see the other snowboarder till they hit her. "SORRY!" the dude yelled. Maka threw her arms up to protect her head as she fell over. Doing a few flips before stopping.

Soul stopped himself quickly as he raced down to Maka. She'd had a gnarly fall, and on a mountain like this, she might've broken something. He unstrapped his feet again, grabbed his board, and ran up to her. "Maka, you all right?" he asked as he reached her a bent down

Soul noticed Maka's ankle, and how it looked like it was twisted, or bruised pretty bad if anything. To him, it looked like a break. "I'm pretty sure that ain't so good." he pointed out

"It'll be fine," Maka said trying to flip the board so she could sit and not be laying on her stomach. The motion caused her to gasp in pain. 'Alright maybe not," she thought.

"I think you broke it Maka. We gotta get down the hill without boards and to the infirmary they have by the lodge," Soul said as he looked around and noticed the guy Maka had hit coming down the hill "HEY YOU! The girl you accidently hit broke something, go get help!" Soul yelled to him

The guy nodded and raced faster down the hill. Maka rolled her eyes. "I'm not going to an infirmary," she said proping herself up with her arms.

"Yes you are. We need to get the break set. First off though, we should cover it up and splint it." Soul said, trying to think of something to use for a splint. He looked at his board, and though he really didn't want to use it, he knew he had to. He took it and snapped a couple short parts of it off, then ripped some of his undershirt off and made a basic splint for Maka's ankle.
