Maka laughed and tugged on her beanie. She slipped her arm around Soul's waist. "this is fun." she said.

"Glad you think so. And we haven't even hit the fun part yet. Wait 'til we hit the Flunking 500 Hill." Soul said eagerly, talking about the largest hill on the mountain

"Sounds kind of scary," Maka said with a laugh. She looked up as it began to snow. She grimmanced slightly, she really didn't care for the stuff anymore.

Soul noticed Maka grimacing at the snow. He never understood why she hated it, it's not like they'd had a traumatic experience like it. Snakes he could understand, but not this. "Hey Maka, tell me, why do you hate snow?" Soul asked out of curiousity

"It's cold and wet," Maka said, "What's there to like? And if you say it represents innocence it the world i might just hit you." She looked back at Soul and shrugged.

Soul looked at Maka and hoped she was joking. "You're kidding. You think I'D say something like that? Come on, that's not me." Soul replied

"People suprise you," Maka said with a small smile, "Not that I really expect anything uncalled for from you." She kissed his cheek and went back to looking around.

"Oh really? Well I might just have to come up with something cool to surprise you then." Soul said. Maka probably was just speculating, but Soul felt like taking that comment and trying to do something for her with it. She probably just viewed him as jerky, cool guy Soul in his eyes.

Maka scooted away from Soul as they neared the end of the chair lift. "See you at the bottom," she laughed and she hooked her other boot it. As the chair touched down she shot off toward the start of the trail.

Soul was taken by surprise at how quickly Maka had taken off. He quickly jumped off and took off down the trail, trying to catch up. He used some basic snowboard maneuvers to try and gain speed quicker, and had caught up in a couple minutes. "Not gonna win THAT easily!" he yelled to her

Maka smirked and turned her board to cut Soul off. She headed for a different trail that had a trick section. "Bring it on Soul!" she laughed pulling her beanie down.

Soul knew this place like the back of his hand, so he took a shortcut he knew. It had a ton of trees in it, but he quickly swerved through all of them. Maka might have the knowledge, but he had the ability. He was already almost to the point where the trick trail was ending and the two courses came together again.

Maka launched herself up a ramp and did a few tricks. She was enjoying this. She landed in the halfpipe and continued. She wondered where Soul was. She had just left the trick course.

Soul quickly pulled in front of Maka and did a skidding turn. His board dug into the ground and shot snow at Maka. He used this to slow her down and gain an advantage. "Sorry Maka, but you never said that wasn't allowed!" he yelled back with a snicker

Maka stopped, sitting down in the snow to spit out the stuff. That was a cheap move even for Soul.
