"Quin and I are a team," Opal said, "If you want to team up with someone go ahead. Since it wouldn't be fair to not have teams." She rolled her eyes in her thoughts. She took a deep breath to stay calm.

"Well then...fine." Sonic said glaring at her behind his glasses. Why couldn't she let it go, they were 10 and 13! Surely one girl could get over not going out with him anymore. "I think i'll watch for the first round."

"Have it your way," she said with a slight sigh. He was always like this, tearing her down. Yeah she'd gotten over them, but still every look, touch, word, it was like that knife that she twirled around on the day they'd started being a bit more than friends. A cut each and every time he suprized her.

Nick walked up and extended two blades from his knuckles on both hands, like Wolverine. He'd been itching for a fight, and itching to try out the new move Justin Law had taught him last time they'd fought. His father's lecture started echoing through his head, but he shook his head and forgot about it. "I'll take a go this round." Nick said as he slashed his blades together to sharpen them

Opal smirked and lowered herself into a crouch, "Just what I wanted to hear." She held Quin's gun form in front of her with a smile, aiming at Nick while doing so. Placing one hand on the ground she pushed herself off and disapeared.

Nick was surprised by the suddent flash of speed, but he remembered his dad's first words in that lecture he heard before tuning him out: "In the case of speed, find your focus to combat it." Whaddya know, his dad actually had taught him something; it kind of bugged Nick. But he listened to it, and calmed his breathing, lowering his blades to his side and slumping his head.

Opal grinned from her hiding spot, he was listening for her. she aimed her gun and fired rapidly. Moving to a new spot when she finnished. This was going to be interesting. --- Dream smiled at her brother. He was totally cool right now, there was no denying that.

Nick easily blocked the shots without even looking up. He hated admitting it, but that was definitely cool, his father'd be proud. He kept listening for a change in direction from Opal, and heard a very faint rustling. She'd move somewhere, he had to pay even harder attention now.

Opal stilled her breath and hid her presence from Nick. She was completely silent as she pulled her knife out of her boot. Poised and ready to strike she jumped out at Nick slashing at him with her knife and firing her black soul shots.

Nick suddenly couldn't tell where Opal was anymore...until he heard gunfire coming right at him. He moved quickly and blocked an incoming knife and a few of the soul shots, but one hit his arm and made a serious burn mark. He lost a lot of feeling in that arm, and could barely move it. On the other hand, he'd gotten Opal's knife stuck in his blades when he blocked. He used his good hand (the one without the knife in its blades) to slash at Opal, trying to get a good hit on her. There was almost no way she could dodge this close up...but she was combat teacher Blue Star's kid, so anything was possible.

Opal ducked and dodged around Nick's attack. Jumping backwards and practically dancing around the attacks. 'I will never be called the loser of the Star Clan again,' she though to herself. She jumped into the air and fired again. Nick had nicked her but she could handle that.

Nick blocked the attacks once again and pulled the arm that had the blade in it back behind him. He threw the knife forward at lightning speed, hoping he could either distract her or conquer her with speed against speed. If there was one thing he needed to be to win against a Star Clan assassin, it was speed, and lots of it.

Opal grabbed the blade with her hand and kept moving, slipping out of her shoes as she went. Casting them to the side she laughed lightly. This was a fun fight for her. She fired again with a laugh.

Nick was enjoying the fight just as much. That was until one of Opal's shot knocked his hat off. It was stupid, but he got pretty pissed whenever someone knocked his hat off. He suddenly gained a short burst of strength as he ran up to Opal and sliced at point blank.

Janelle shook her head at the display of everyone's little battles here and there. Pfft, training. Who needed it when there was no one to fight against, and your mentor wasn't there? Yeah, she was sixteen years old and all, but... That was when it came to her head: she could practice her magic! But the only magic she knew was that disappearing trick, and nothing else.
The girl sighed, and walked over to a nearby tree. She looked up to the branches above her head, focusing all her energy on it. Janelle then closed her eyes, and disappeared from sight, only to reappear once more in the branches above.
