"I did deal with a zombie before but he was just a teacher of mine for a test," Maka said slightly shocked he was still talking to her, "What are selkies? Are they like the Keshin?"

"Aw man, selkies are like... mystical seals that can shed their pelts and become human. As long as they have their pelt that can shift from one form to the other. They're like.. sirens. And my old roommate was a zombie. He was cool," Hanna rambled, blushing.
His eyes darted to the stage, "Oh hey look, Helen's on. GO HELEN! Okay, back to you, Maka. What's a Keshin?"

"Its a soul that has taken the soul of an innocent," Maka said her eyes darting to the stage, "When a Keshin soul kills it eats the human soul and gets stronger. When it finally gets to power crazed a team of a weapon and a miser is sent out to collect the soul. Thus growing stronger by the weapon eating the keshin egg. Once ninty nine keshin eggs and one witch soul are collected the weapon becomes a death sythe."
She was way to use to explaining that. She began to blush bright red.

"That's incredible," Hanna was soaking it all in, "And you deal with that? Wow, you're pretty badass, Maka!" He was holding in a rather big gnee. This was going in his journal for sure. As long as Conrad and Worth didn't find out and tease him to no living end.
Hanna was really happy he decided to come here tonight. "I'd love to see that one day."

"I'd show you...but my weapon," she said, "Well hes not here."
She smiled at Hanna and looked up at the stage. The music in her head was quite and she had Hanna to thank for letting her forget Soul for at least a moment.

"One day, hopefully," his attention turned to Helen for support, but his heart was pounding and the rune on his hand was a reminder of how this actually happened.

Hinata walked into the room. This really wasn't her place but Kiki had insisted she get out and meet some new people and in truth she did not want to meet anyone, no one. Not that she wasn't enjoying the singing. It relaxed her

Maka smiled and watched the girl named Helen up on stage. The girl had guts, but she had one last question to ask Hanna.
"Hanna how'd you get sucked into the whole rune thing?" she asked, "Choice or something else?"

Hanna bit his lip, "Uh, I've always loved the paranormal, but it wasn't ENTIRELY by choice, just partly." He wasn't comfortable with this, but he liked Maka, so it was okay with him.
"I'd go up and sing if I wasn't so tone deaf. But Helen's really good!"

Utau looked back towards the group, in truth she was interested to learn about these "runes" that Hanna was talking about. The words for her new song were not coming to her head so she closed her notebook and listened to the music hoping for it to fill her head

She looked back to the stage and covered the picture in her lap with her hands.

Well, at least Hanna noticed her. That's probably what Henry would say too. Go Helen. Just... sing your heart out, an audience awaits you. she told herself as she looked out at the audience. And so, she began to sing. It was scary at first, but she soon got used to it.
At least, someone would be watching her. Hanna would watch her. Maybe. A smile beamed on her face as she looked at the group over there, a bit of herself wanting to make Utau jealous.

But his eyes were glued to Helen. Didn't want to lose his new friends, so he was gonna support her right now.

Utau's eyes narrowed, who did this girl think she was? Trying to show her up? She was an idol back home, but she would not give this girl pleasure so she went back to her magazine.
