((ooc: Maka and Soul might finnaly be ending up together! XD lol, Its been a few months since Hanna left school. He broke up with Maka before leaving so they wouldn't worry about eachother.))
Maka sat in the common room of the Emberclaw house, staring into the fireplace. Hanna had been gone for months and the fact he not only left but broke up with her was still raw. Picking up the book he had given her she tossed in onto the floor with a small sigh. Pulling her knees to her chest she wrapped her arms around them and hid her face. This was killing her, at least thats what she thought.
'Come on Maka,' she yelled at herself, 'Get over it! This isn't going to kill you so tough up!'
She couldn't help it as tears started flowing. Damn emotions, they got in the way of everything. She missed the dorky red head, that was what the problem was. She needed to forget him, he had left. There wasn't a point anymore to holding on. She moved her forearms to lace her fingers over her head. Still curled up in a ball she didn't notice the footsteps approching her.

The footsteps belonged to Soul, who'd been looking for Maka himself actually. He'd noticed she was hugely depressed lately, in fighting and school. And when he'd heard the soft crying in the common room, he had a feeling it was her. "Maka, there you are." he said

Maka sat up quickly rubbing at her eyes, "Hey...Soul."
She put on a fake smile and let her legs drop back to the floor. Standing up quickly she turned to him.
"You need something?" Maka asked trying not to let her voice shake.

Soul noticed immediately that Maka had been crying. She knew how to hide it, but not well enough. The thing about fighting Kishin together is you can tell when something's the matter. "What's wrong? I can tell something is up." he said, getting straight to the point

"I'm fine idiot," Maka forced out, "Nothing's wrong. Now what do you need?"
She hated being cold to Soul, but he'd never really liked Hanna. How could she let on that it was the red head that was making her like this and not get him pissed or in the 'I told you so' mind set?

"I need to know what's wrong. That's why I came looking for you. You've been off when we fight Kishin lately." Soul said, pushing for some information

"Sorry," Maka said rubbing her arms, "It wont happen again."
She angled her face towards the fire and stared at it. She really didn't want to talk about it, though knowing Soul, he wouldn't rest till he had an answer.

Soul could see how hurt Maka looked in seconds. It must be big if it looked that bad. "Maka, you gotta explain. You know as well as I do that if a meister and weapon are out of sync like this, we can't match wavelengths well. And that could lead to worse stuff than not being able to fight." he said, trying to convince her

"We'll be fine," Maka said, "We always are. Besides its not really any of your concern, right? I mean now that he's gone you don't have to play nice anymore."
Shoot, she let it slip that Hanna was gone.

He...playing nice. That was it, it was Hanna. He'd noticed he wasn't around Maka lately, but why wouldn't he have to play nice anymore at all? "So that's what's up, Hanna. What happened then?" he asked

Maka sighed and tugged on one of her pigtails, "He left. Gone, poof, adios."
She waited for the gloating to start.

Soul didn't gloat about Hanna finally being gone. It was great and all, but that'd just be harsh, even for him. Instead, he grabbed her and hugged her as a way to console her. "Sorry that happened." he said truthfully

Maka hugged Soul back and started crying again. She hated this, being weak was one thing she couldn't stand. Yet here she was, clinging to Soul like he was a life line.

Soul wasn't exactly sure what to do in this situation, Maka never cried. He but his hand on her head for starters. "It..uh...it'll be all right." he said

"You really suck at this," Maka said with a slight laugh. She let go of him and stepped back, "Sorry for breaking down like that."
