An Emberclaw Day

[Skywarp]

Skywarp smiled. "That's... really cool," he said, watching as Hanna pulled out a Sharpie. He wondered if this small human could resolve the conflict between Autobots and Decepticons... then he dismissed the thought, remembering that while it was a "new" memory to him, the war had been going on for millions and millions of years.

...it was then that he noticed Hanna's hand trying to escape his own. With a gasp, he released him, and pulled his own hands to his sides. "I-I'm sorry!" he squeaked.

[hannafalkcross]

"It's okay, man. No broken bones," Hanna smiled, scrawling a tiny rune on his upper arm, which soon glowed blue. He seemed very pleased at this, and sighed.

"I'm glad you think I'm cool. Not many people do. Conrad think's I'm an annoying twerp.." Hanna stopped ranting to smile, thinking about his friends back home, "But being cool doesn't mean anything, anyway. You just gotta be yourself."

[Skywarp]

What started as a sigh of relief turned into a strange, startled noise as the rune on Hanna's arm began glowing. However, it seemed to be what the red-head had been going for, and he attempted to calm down.

Skywarp listened closely to what Hanna was saying, and when he had finished, he looked down at his feet.

"Be yourself, huh..." he frowned, and fiddled with his claws. "I-I... I don't know how... I'm actually a... I'm a clone, so..." he mumbled a little more to himself and trailed off. He shook his head and looked back up at Hanna. "Who's C-Conrad..? He... he doesn't sound very nice."

"Conrad's this vampire I know back home," Hanna brushed off that fact and continued folding a piece of paper and holding it in his hand against the glowing rune. The little paper bird started flapping its wings and settled on Skywarp's metal shoulder.

"You're a clone?" Hanna's beady eyes drifted up at the robot's head for the first time, and he tilted his head to the side, an eager glint to know more filling his expression. "A clone of who... or what? I didn't know robots could clone! I really should read up on you guys more often! I'm falling behind."

[Skywarp]

Skywarp stared in awe at the tiny paper bird. How did he do that? He didn't want to move, because if he did, there was the chance he could knock the tiny bird off his shoulder and never find it again! That would be dreadful.

He turned back to Hanna. "I'm... I'm a clone of this guy, Starscream. H-he's the most famous traitor in Decepticon history... _{and he was a huge jerk,}" Skywarp's expression turned angry for a split-second, but he shook it off. "C-cloning is sorta... popular with us. There are a whole bunch of other Starscream clones... and most of them are pretty mean too."

[hannafalkcross]

"Even if you're a clone, you can still identify as an individual by forming your own personality, right?" Hanna smiled, watching the robot struggle to keep the crane atop him.

"I've never heard much about these robots you're talking about. Decepticon?" He paused, making sure he said it right, "Care to teach me some stuff in case I get called on a case concerning them?"

[Skywarp]

"I guess so... b-but the thing is, my personality is just one of Starscream's own traits... and I d-don't know how to change it," he arched his shoulders slightly, causing the paper bird to slide down. He flailed his arms around in a desperate attempt to catch it, and breathed a sigh of relief as he cupped it in his hands.

"Ah... Decepticons... they're really violent," he wracked his processor, once again going through some of Starscream's memories for a better explanation. "Th-they... er, -we- I guess, were built as war machines to protect our home planet, Cybertron... then I guess we got kicked off after this huge war or something..." he shuddered at the thought of being caught up in a war. "But... most Decepticons don't really have any morals or anything and don't really care about anyone. And usually, we're... we're really huge. Just for some reason, this school makes us shrink," he shrugged. "At least, th-that's what happened to me..." he blinked in surprise. He didn't remember ever talking that much at once.

Hanna was suddenly laughing.
Rather hard at that, to the point he was gasping for air.

"Sorry, bro, but I totally can't see you having no morals or being violent." Hanna was leaning against Skywarp for support as he tried to breathe again and smiled, "As for your personality- we can work on that. I'll help you out as long as we're friends."

[Skywarp]

Skywarp was confused. What had he done that was so funny?

"I-I guess cause I'm a coward, I'm too scared to be...violent..." he pouted as Hanna leaned against him. Strangely enough, he didn't mind this blatant invasion of his personal space.

"...friends?" his expression suddenly changed. Wasn't 'friend' more of an Autobot term? Oh well, Hanna had said that he didn't seem like the violent type, so maybe he could have friends, too. He smiled. "Ah... o-okay!" He liked this human. He would probably never say so out loud, for fear of another 'Con finding out and kicking him square in the face, but it was true.

"Of course we're friends," Hanna straightened up, removing himself from the bot's side. "You're the only person that's talked to me yet here!" Hanna smiled and looked at the crane cradled in Skywarp's hands, "Also, you can keep the paper crane. It's said if you fold 1,000 you get a wish. That can be your number one."

[Skywarp]

Skywarp tilted his head. He was the first one to talk to him? That was strange. Hanna just seemed so... willing. "Wow... 1,000? That's a lot..." he stared at the crane in his hands. He didn't even know how to fold one, but a free wish seemed like a nice idea. "Th-thanks," he said, and smiled.

"I'm exhausted from moving in here, so I'm gonna try to practice my runes for a while and get some sleep," Hanna jumped up effortlessly to his feet and smiled down at the sitting bot, "If you wanna hang out anytime or anything, just find me, okay?" He turned on his heel and bounded up the steps shouting behind him, "Goodnight, Skywarp!!!!"

[Helen]

Helen couldn't help herself but get into that habit of listening to Hanna and Skywarp. Her dad wouldn't be happy about it, yes, but it was quite the interesting conversation they had. Not a word about time machines in there to force Helen to breakdown. And then, Hanna was leaving all of a sudden. Huh. Helen used to stay up later then this all the time.

[Skywarp]

Skywarp waved after Hanna, slightly dumbfounded at his new friend's sudden leave. "B-bye...!" he called after him, and was just about to examine his paper crane when he noticed yet another human nearby. How long had she been there? He glanced back and forth and hesitantly waved at her.

Humans aren't scary, humans aren't scary... he told himself again and again in his mind.

[Helen]

Henry. Yes, Henry. That's who Helen thought of when she thought Skywarp and Hanna. Henry and Helen, the best friends. She waved back after stopping her thoughts of Henry which wasn't long. "H-Hi." Helen managed to get out. He was a clone from what Helen heard. Then again, with so many facial features of her mother, Helen thought of herself as a clone of her mother. Of course, from what she remembered of her and by the pictures.
