History: Esmeralda was orphaned as a young child, and became the adopted sister of Clopin. They each grew up together, taking care of one another and trying to avoid prejudices from the French population. Esmeralda acquired a pet goat by the name of Djali, which she hasn’t been seen without since. She would make money on the side by dancing on street corners while her friends played music for her, and many said that she was a very talented dancer.
When she and Clopin were older, and were going to high school, a long and drawn out situation with the headmaster of the school, Claude Frollo, Esme started dating Phoebus, the captain of the football team. Her brother went off the Animated High, and after a time, so did Esme.

She new she shouldn’t yell at him like that but he kept getting under her feet and head butting her while she was trying to dance. Djali gave her a hurt look that cut her to the core. “I’m sorry. I know that you didn’t mean to do anything wrong.”
Djali rubs his head against her leg affectionately. “I love you too! Now will you go somewhere else so I can practice, the recital is in 10 min. and I still haven’t got this move right.”, she says teasing him in her usual way. He’ll never learn not to try to play with me when I’m dancing. She sighs and continues dancing after he’s out of sight.
