Gamzee's blank expression turned to that of a worried one as his new friend began to shake. Something wasn't right. He got up and sat next to her on the corner of the chair, placing a hand on the other side of her. From what he had observed, she didn't really like contact too much. Okay, a brother could respect that. But he was still concerned, and he wasn't helping by crouching on the ground.
Being up next to her probably wasn't much better, but Gamzee wasn't exactly known for having good ideas.
"Hey, don't look so down. Its gonna be alright, you'll see."

Rebecca flinched at the troll's touch. No. No, he wasn't allowed to touch her, NO ONE was allowed to touch her. She was a doll, but that didn't mean that she was meant to be played with. She was just a doll, just a doll, just a girl, a small, tiny, defenseless little girl that this wasn't supposed to be happening to...
Jerking up into a sitting position, she fixed her black eyes on his, preparing to do the worst. But, something stopped her just as she was about to carry out her course of action. Was it his assurance that everything was going to be alright? No, Rebecca was fairly certain that he had said that at some point, too. Was it the sympathetic look in his eyes? The fact that he didn't look threatening at all now, unlike the man who had stared her down with those beady little eyes of his, towering down over her and rendering her helpless?
Whatever her reasons for stopping, Rebecca found herself unwilling to deliver out Gamzee's "punishment". He hadn't meant anything but comfort, she supposed, now that her thoughts were under control. Staring at his gray thumb, Rebecca slowly, hesitantly slid her hand over top of it, acknowledging that she had heard him. She certainly didn't believe what he said was true, but it was the thought that counted, she supposed.

Gamzee stiffened a little at the sudden defensive mode the doll assumed. What did he do? Oh gog he had done something wrong, hadn't he. Royally fncked up once again, way to go you useless juggalo. He was caught by even more surprise when she rested a hand on his own. He felt almost as if he had made a sort of breakthrough, but didn't want to push it.
He did his best to remain as still as possible. This was actually easy for him, from years of "practice" with zoning out for hours on end.

Rebecca couldn't help but find it odd that Gamzee wasn't afraid of her, but he did at least seem to know not to push things. He probably could tell that she wasn't one to be trifled with, despite the fact that she was only six inches tall. She was a doll for crying out loud, and she wasn't exactly a very pretty one, either. That apparently made her "scary" to people, it seemed.
Maybe she was just losing her touch, and the only reason that she was allowing Gamzee to be close to her was because she was too weak to stop him or care. Then again, maybe she just didn't mind him being there. You could never quite tell with Rebecca.
Perhaps she had found...a friend? Impossible, she knew. But maybe, just maybe...this Gamzee could be someone she could at least tolerate being around, maybe even enjoy.

Zoning out and sleeping were two different things. Gamzee was an expert at zoning out, and he was pretty damn good at sleeping, too-- but staying awake while trying not to zone out was more of a difficult task than the troll realized.
He didn't know what would happen if he fell asleep next to the doll-- nothing bad, he was sure-- but he still didn't want to. What kind of friend would he be? A lousy one. And "lousy friend" was not something he used to describe himself. Only Karkat was allowed to call him that.
Suddenly, a question found its way into whatever was left of his brain. "Is this... your room? Seems all different than the others. But then again, I've all only been up in my room so I guess I wouldn't actually motherfncking know, you know?"

Her room? Well, Rebecca supposed it could be called that. She never bothered to sleep in any of those ridiculously assigned dorm rooms...actually, Rebecca didn't sleep at all, anyway. She just sort of...laid there, and waited for the morning to come. But she always did that in here, and that seemed to suit her(and the girls who she was supposed to be sharing a dorm with) just fine.
Giving a shrug and small nod, Rebecca looked back up at Gamzee quietly. He seemed tired. Perhaps he was lost...it made sense, anyway. What kind of student just wandered around the school this late at night, just randomly popping into strange rooms with creepy dolls inside them? People who didn't know where they were going, Rebecca supposed.

Gamzee frowned. This room.. well, it didn't really have anything in it. She may just be a doll, but by some miracle she was living and therefore deserved better than this dusty, grimy place. But then again, if it made her happy, he wouldn't dare to interfere.
He yawned, slumping down in the seat so far that he had practically fallen off. His neck was arched at a very uncomfortable looking angle against the back of the chair, but he didn't seem to mind. It probably wasn't the best position for his back either, but he didn't seem to care about that, either.
"... you wouldn't happen to know where this place is, do you? I don't know how to get back to my motherfncking room."

Rebecca observed Gamzee with an odd look to her eye, a bit curious about his new way of sitting. He must truly be tired if he were resorting to sitting like that. Did she know her way around? She had explored enough; she was sure she could manage as simple of a task of finding his room.
Nodding, she hopped down onto the floor, motioning for him to follow.

Gamzee "got up" to follow-- which pretty much was attempting to stand, falling onto his face, and then pushing himself up off the ground without missing a beat.
This miracle just kept growing. How else could he explain the situation? He awoke in this strange place and met a living doll that knew how to get back to his dorm. Motherfncking miracles. He ushered a silent prayer to his "mirthful messiahs" and followed Rebecca out of the room.

Rebecca turned suddenly as Gamzee fell to the ground, staring at him a moment before turning back to finish walking. An odd one this Gamzee was. But, Rebecca still found him interesting, which was really saying something, considering that Rebecca didn't really seem to care about much of anything at all.
Heading down a dark hallway, Rebecca glanced around, making sure that no one was there to see them. It still didn't matter of course, but Rebecca supposed that it was the principle of the thing. They couldn't really call it "sneaking around" if there was no sneaking involved, now could they?
As they reached a sort of traffic circle in the building that connected four adjoining hallways, Rebecca stopped. She didn't know if this boy was Venomfang, Emberclaw, Thunderhoof, or even Silvershadow for that matter, and there was no telling if the boy even wore any sort of school colors on purpose.
Glancing back at him, she waited, pointing to each little picture that stood at the entrance to each hallway, each bearing the mascots of the houses. Maybe he would understand what she was trying to ask him.

Gamzee gazed blankly at all the symbols of the houses. "Oh sh1t, that's right. Mine was the dragon. I'll find my way back from here somehow..." he took a step down the hall. He didn't remember what room he was in, and he wouldn't be able to tell anyway. It was too dark to make out the numbers on the doors. But he didn't want to trouble Rebecca any more than he already had. He turned back to her and smiled.
"Thanks for helping me out, sister. I better motherfncking see you around soon, okay?"

Rebecca glanced down the Venomfang hallway, her black eyes never once blinking. She had her doubts about Gamzee being able to find his way back alright, but if he truly wished to go back alone then it was on no concern to her. Giving a small nod, Rebecca turned, starting to head back to her own room.
Thinking over what the troll had said, Rebecca stopped suddenly, having gone fairly far ahead of the other. It had been an...interesting experience, this evening. She didn't know how many of those she might have left, if any. Rebecca would be gone soon, but to where, she did not know.
"...Goodnight..."
A sound like like an autumn wind rustled down the hallway, leaving as quickly as it had come. Anyone who had heard the word would have not been able to remember just how the voice who had said it sounded exactly, but it was definitely....creepy.
And that suited Rebecca just fine.
