Here's a loooong overdue request from Hinata. ^^; It's not my best work, and I haven't ever watched either of these animes, but I hope that I did Kiki and Kid justice. From what Hinata told me, it seems that Utau and Kid got into a fight when Utau wanted Kid to demonstrate his powers. She tried to attack Misao, and Kid tried to protect her, and ended up getting hurt. Here is a scene from the hospital, where Kiki's watching over the sleeping Kid.
Hanging On...For Her Sake
....beep.....beep.....beep....
Kiki's brown eyes resembled a full glass that was about to spill over. A sea of uncertainty and worry was hiding inside them, with waves of tears constantly crashing against the outer walls.
The cause for her worry and sadness was the poor sight that lay before her on the hospital bed. The formerly intimadating Death the Kid was there, a distinct blow to the right side of his head, along with several other obviously painful markings all over his small body.
"I hate that..." Kiki sighed, closing her eyes for a moment. She felt as though she might doze off if she stayed that way, though, so she shook her head, forcing herself to stay awake with Kid. "That selfish brat!" Kiki spat out, another tear sliding down her face in anger.
Utau. That selfish, impatient, evil witch! This was her fault, all of it. If she hadn't tried to hurt Misao...
Misao.
"No, this is her fault!" Kiki said, shaking her head as the tears continued to fall. If she hadn't been in the way, then perhaps Utau wouldn't have tried to harm her and Kid wouldn't have...
"No...this is my fault," Kiki whispered to herself. "If I had...taken the attack, if I had been there when he needed me....oh, Kid!" She cried some more, hot tears stinging her eyes as she leaned forward against the bed, resting her face on Kid's apparently lifeless chest.
....beep.....beep......bzzzzzp.....
Kiki sat upright at the sound, looking at Kid with a terrified expression. "N-No, Kid, don't do this...." She shook her head violently. "Please, no....you've got to wake up. Maka, Soul, they need you....the school needs you....I need you..."
Kiki sobbed even harder now as the machine that was hooked up to her boyfriend kept making that awful sound. Like he was dead...like he wasn't coming back...
Wiping her eyes, Kiki looked up again, staring at Kid's perfectly symettrical face for a moment. Tentatively, she leaned forward, kissing his lips gently before going back to her crying.
bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzp..............beep..........beep....
"H-Huh?" She looked up again, nearly shouting for joy when she saw that the machine was making life sounds again. Unable to deal with all this excitement on such little sleep, Kiki slowly felt her eyes begin to close, and soon she was asleep, her head still resting on the edge of the bed. And, though she could no longer feel it, Kid's fingers moved just enough so as to hold her hand in his through the night.
He would be okay...she needed him.
