Miracle on Walt's Street
Chapter 2: Face Unafraid The Plans That We've Made

“I’ll get it!” Daisy said cheerfully as she passed by the door, taking no notice of the anxiousness of the others. Pulling open the door, they all held their breath preparing for the worst.
“Merry Christmas, everyone!” A cheerful voice rang out, filling the room as a red-headed girl walked in. Ariel was looking especially excited this evening, and was wearing a perfectly seasonal outfit. Her long red hair was kept neatly under a large Santa hat, and the rest of her clothes matched accordingly. Following close behind he in the doorframe was another woman,
who looked a lot less bouncy than Ariel. Shaking her head, she stepped in behind her.
“Ho ho ho, with the Christmas and the merry,” Megara rolled her eyes, smiling despite her sarcasm. Ariel looked back at the girl with a huff, putting her hands on her hips at the woman’s lack of enthusiasm.
“Ariel! Meg! Glad you could make it!” Clopin said cheerfully, taking a stack of packages from Meg’s arms as they walked in.
“Sis!” Puck grinned broadly, pulling Ariel into a suddenly hug. She hugged him back tightly, laughing a little as she did.
“Ah, Puck, it’s good to see you, too,” she giggled. She and Puck had become close friends over their time living at Disneyland, and often greeted each other as though they were brother and sister.
Meg eagerly handed the boxes over to Clopin, glad for the loss of the heavy load. The gypsy carried them with ease, heading over to the tree with a familiar toothy grin. He loved the holidays--especially this one. And it was going to be extra special this year, because it was the first one that he’d be spending with Puck.
Stepping back over towards the Greek beauty, he grinned, folding his arms across his chest as he looked down at her.
“Well, you seem rather...cheery this evening,” he laughed.
Rolling her eyes, she gave the gypsy a sarcastic smirk. “Bite me, Clopin. Look, Ariel brings my share of cheerfulness, thank you,” she said, sticking her thumb towards the girl, who was currently trying to wrap Puck in a string of garland. The fae was resisting, though, and had managed to pull the ex-mermaid’s Santa hat down over her eyes, making things difficult for her.
“Alright, break it up,
kids,” Mickey pushed past the two, unable to hide a smile at the sight of them. Ariel rolled her eyes, blowing her long bangs out of her face with a sigh, and Puck merely laughed.
“Hey, I’m no kid. I mean, I
have a kid for crying out loud,” Ariel giggled. The others laughed as well, Meg putting an arm around the red head’s shoulder playfully.
“Speaking of which, when is the little tike getting here? I haven’t seen her since Thanksgiving,” Meg gave a little pout.
“Well, that’s what happens when kids grow up, Meg,” Ariel rolled her eyes with a smile. “And you can’t really call her a little tike anymore, she’s sixteen for crying out loud!”
“Ah yes, they grow up so fast,” Clopin smiled. “Isn’t she coming with that...Hawkins boy this year?”
Ariel nodded. “Jim. He seems to be a good kid, but...I was wondering if you boys could do me a small favor,” Ariel said to Clopin and Puck, pinching her fingers to show just how small she meant.
“Would you mind...putting the fear of God into him for me? Just a little?” Ariel gave a bright smile to the two tricksters.
Glancing at one another for a moment, Puck and Clopin each burst out laughing at her request, leaning onto one another for support.
“Oh, oh mon dieu, that’s rich,” Clopin laughed, wiping a tear from his eye.
“S-Sure thing, Ariel, we’ll get right on it,” Puck laughed again.
Ding-dong.Once again they were interrupted by the sound of the ringing doorbell. Before Mickey could even open the door, in stepped the omnificent figure of Judge Claude Frollo his hands folded neatly in front of him as he entered the room. The poor mouse could only stare, as did many of the other frightened guests in the room.
Clopin growled, his hand moving reflexively to his dagger as the judge entered the room. Puck instantly placed a hand upon his arm, trying to find some way to calm the gypsy down.
“Clopin, easy, don’t get so worked up,” Puck said quietly, trying to place himself between the two enemies.
“Worked up?! How can I not get worked up when a good for nothing, bigoted, son of a--”
Puck silenced the other by placing his lips over Clopin’s own. As he pulled back, he stared seriously into the others eyes.
“Now, you said yourself that this is a time for peace, a time to let bygones be bygones. And, though I know that can’t really apply here, what with all he’s done to you and your people, but can’t you just...I don’t know,
ignore him? Please, for my sake if nothing else?”
Clopin opened his mouth, as if to say something, but after a moment or two closed it and gave a frustrated nod. Smiling softly, Puck gave the other another quick kiss.
“But don’t worry; I’m sure that we can find
some way to annoy the poor sap,” Puck chuckled softly. Gesturing towards the mistletoe that hung fairly close to where Frollo was now sitting, he grinned even broader. “I don’t imagine that that will sit too well with him.”
Clopin returned the other’s mischievous grin, nodding back to the other before taking his hand to go and help Tiana in the dining room.
Having been watching Puck and Clopin’s exchange, Meg turned to Ariel with a smirk. “That looks like fun, “ she said, moving closer to put an arm around the woman.
Ariel blushed. “Meg! Not now, people can see us.”
“Ah, let ‘em look,” Meg laughed, kissing the ginger’s cheek familiarly. Ariel’s blush deepened, though her frown had turned back into a smile.
“Hey, let’s not wear out the mistletoe before this thing starts, everyone,” Daisy walked by the two girls with a giggle. Meg rolled her eyes, though a grin was still on her face as they broke apart.

Over the next half hour or so, several other guests had began to arrive, and things were starting to get interesting. They had decided to just let people take what they wanted from the dinner table onto paper plates, and carry it around with them or sit down somewhere.
Two little puppies were currently taking advantage of that, having set themselves down beneath the table to catch whatever scraps happened to fall into their waiting mouths. One was a little dalamatian with a black spot over his eye; the other, a little brown wolf-dog.
“Gee, Patch, this sure is great,” Aleu smiled, licking her lips.
Nodding, Patch grinned back. “I know, it’s my favorite holiday of the year!” He paused, swipping another bit of food from the floor. Aleu looked closely at him for a moment, then licked his muzzle, giggling as Patch blushed.
“You had some food on your chin,” she confessed.

Meanwhile, at another end of the room, a golden-coated dog was scratching at an itchy red bow that his own had insisted he wear tonight. Only problem was, now he had no idea where his owner could have gone. Frowning impatiently, Garnar set about to pacing back and forth on the carpet, the whole time thinking to himself,
where was Clopin?
“Hey, you alright, Garnar? What’s wrong?”
He turned sharply at the soft sounding voice, his ears perking up automatically at the sound. Blushing, he smiled at the female fox who had just arrived. He didn’t know her too well, but he knew her well enough from last Thanksgiving to know that he had a small crush on her.
“Uh, hi Vixey,” he answered nervously. “No, everything’s fine. In fact, things are much better, now that you’re here.”
She smiled shyly in return, moving closer to the golden dog. “Nice bow,” she giggled.
“Er, uh, thanks,” Garnar barked, blushing slightly underneath his fur.

“Merry Christmas, Mom!”
“Melody? Oh, look at you, you look so grown up!”
“Mom, please, I’m not a child anymore!”
Melody rolled her eyes playfully at her mother as Ariel wrapped her into a monster hug, kissing her cheek affectionately as the younger girl came inside with her boyfriend. Jim waved shyly to her mother, not so sure how to react to a possible candidate for his future mother in law attacking them both in another hug.
Catching sight of the display from across the room, Clopin and Puck grinned to one another, and with a nod, they were by the small group in a matter of seconds. Leaning an arm against the wall, Clopin smirked at the young boy, as Puck put a brotherly arm around Ariel’s shoulder.
“Melody, chere, would you mind leaving us alone with your pretty boy for a moment?” Clopin asked charmingly, smiling at the girl in a way that made her blush and smile back shyly.
“Um,” Melody glanced at Jim, and he looked back uncertainly. “Sure, I guess so.”
“Great. Thanks. You’re wonderful.” Clopin grinned, and with another nod to Puck, the elf slid his arm away from Ariel and over to lean against the wall as well. Now they were positioned so that each trickster had an arm next to Jim’s head. The teenager looked up at them nervously, then tried to glance at Melody for help, but she was alreay being dragged off to the other side of the room by Meg and her mother.
“So, Jim, is it?” Clopin was the first to speak, directing the boy’s attention back to the two men on either side of him.
“Uh, y-yes sir.”
“Nice name. I like it,” Clopin smirked to Puck. “Now, enough chit-chat. I think it’s time we ask you a question, monsieur.”
Puck nodded with a devilish grin. “Yes, quite. Now, our question is this; do you love Melody?”
Jim swallowed. “Um, yeah, I think I do.”
“You think?” Clopin raised an eyebrow. “Well, you’d better get sure real soon. Because if you ever do
anything to hurt her,” Clopin flashed a wicked smile, suddenly pointing a dagger to the young man’s throat.
Puck smiled in the same way, grabbing the boy’s collar with a slight green glow to his fingertips. “And we do mean
anything, whether it’s breaking her heart or stepping on her toe at a dance,” his eyes now appeared empty, the pupils gone and replaced by a green light inside them.
Jim nodded quickly, clearly terrified of the two men. “Y-Yes, I understand. Nothing to hurt her, got it. I’ll love Melody with all my heart, and...yeah.”
The tricksters nodded to one another, and suddenly lost their terrifying demeanors. Grinning friendlily, they both said, “Merry Christmas!” And walked off, each with his arm wrapped around the other.
Jim could only blink after them, still shaking slightly from the frightening display they had given him.
“Jim?”
The former cabin boy nearly jumped at Melody’s gentle voice, but breathed a sigh of relief when he saw it was only her. Concerned, Melody put a hand on his arm. “Are you alright? What exactly did they do to you?”
Jim smiled, taking her hand in his for a moment. “Oh, nothing. Just tried to scare me straight,” he rolled his eyes with a smirk. Taking both of her hands in his, he gave Melody an uncharacteristically serious look, then gently kissed her lips. When he pulled away, he smiled when he saw that she was blushing slightly.
“Babe, you know I love you, right?” Jim asked, wrapping his arms around her. She smiled, then nodded.
“Well, good. And you know I”d never do anything to hurt you, right?”
“Oh, Jim,” Melody sighed happily, pulling the boy into a hug. “Of course I do.” Kissing his cheek, she giggled, putting yet another smile on the boy’s face.
