Puck's Prose

[Puck]

Bahh, I'll update Walking Hearts soon enough, but I just couldn't help but share this scene from an RP I did with a friend on dA! X3 She'd played Puck, and I played Clopin. And man, did I SUCK. I don't see how I can write about him fairly decently in character but can't RP him...meh, oh well. I'll leave that to you, Janelle!

Clopin smiled even brighter at that, leaning a bit towards the other. He was tempted to risk getting them caught for PDA, just so that he could kiss Puck, but before he could even try, the bell rang again.
"Well, that's just perfect," he laughed, still holding the other's hand. "Now, about that date..."

"Where should we go?" Puck asked curiously.

"Hmm..." Clopin thought to himself, picking up his books in one arm, pulling Puck up with the other. "Well, if we can get out of the school without having to deal with Gaston, we could always go for a walk in the park...as cheesy as that sounds," Clopin laughed

"I think that sounds really nice. actually. And there's a few places around there we could stop to eat at if you want," the white-haired trickster said, smiling.

"Wonderful!" Clopin smiled brightly, taking the other's hand as they walked out the door. Puck only smiled happily, holding on to Clopin.

As soon as they were outside the school, Clopin stopped, turning suddenly to face the other.
"There. Now that we're out of there..." the gypsy grinned, pulling the other into a sudden kiss. Pucks eyes widened at the sudden show of affection but he wrapped his arms around him, moaning softly.

Clopin smiled, slowly pulling away after a few moments. He looked down at the other lovingly, but then turned away sharply when he heard a large 'awwwing' sound coming from behind them. His face instantly turned red, and he scowled at the group of girls that were there, a few of whom being Belle, Sally, and Jasmine.
Glancing back down at Puck, he gave a little laugh. "Ha, looks like we have a couple groupies on our hands, Puck."

Puck blushed, then shouted at them. "Oh, like this is the first time you've seen boys kiss!"

Clopin laughed, as well as a few of the girls. Thinking up something mischievous, Clopin suddenly pulled Puck close to him, leaning him backwards in a dip.
"This'll really make them go wild," he whispered teasingly down at Puck, winking at the girls before pulling Puck into another deep kiss.

Puck struggled slightly before giving up and surrendering to the kiss. moaning softly as he tried fighting for dominance.

Sally and her friends sighed at the scene.

Clopin smirked beneath the kiss, moving in closer to try and keep control. He hoped that a teacher didn't happen to come by, or worse, one of the less accepting of the students they'd encountered today.
After a minute or two, Clopin gently broke the kiss, smirking at Puck as he stayed close. A few of the girls behind them were audibly sighing and whispering, but he ignored them for the moment. That had to have been one of their best kisses so far. Puck's cheeks were slightly pink as he held onto Clopin, panting softly, slightly out of breath from the kiss.

Clopin smiled down at Puck's blush momentarily, then turned towards the crowd of girls with a mock scolding expression. "Alright, I think that's enough for today. You've all got boyfriends to get to, so please, leave me and mine alone."

Belle giggled softly, smiling as she, Sally and the others make their way to their boyfriends as told.

Puck smiled, still blushing. "Lets go."

Let me just start out by saying that I am NOT a big fan of this ship...please don't judge me. Esmeralda and I got into a rather amusing conversation about slash pairings. Needless to say, an amusing idea came up that involved Esme walking in on a rather...interesting situation between her brother and boyfriend. XDD;

Walking Hearts
Chapter 6

"For the love of Oberon, child; please stop crying!"

Puck wearily put a hand to his forehead, continuing to gently rock the screaming bundle in his arms as he paced back and forth across the room. Clopin had practically collapsed into one of the chairs of their living room, tiredly massaging his temples as Puck tried to quiet their little girl. They'd been doing this for the past hour, and neither one of the trickster had been able to calm her. They'd only been parents for a week, but some how, it felt like years. They just weren't used to this sort of thing.

"You'd think she'd have dried up to nothing by now," the gypsy muttered, sighing irritably as he shifted positions.

"I just don't know what it could be!" Puck said in exasperation, turning to face the gypsy with the crying Janelle still in his arms. "We've tried feeding her, changing her, rocking her…I just don't know what else to try!"

Clopin frowned slightly at the other's exasperated expression, trying to think of a solution to their problem. Rubbing a gloved hand around the dark circles that surrounded his brown eyes, he asked with little enthusiasm or confidence, "Think, Puck. You had to have dealt with this sort of thing with Alexander; how did you react when he was being impossible?"

"That, husband, is an entirely irrelevant matter," Puck sighed sarcastically, rolling his eyes. "For one thing, she is not a boy, and another thing, she acts absolutely nothing like Alex did. What about Esmeralda? How did she behave in these situations?"

Clopin shook his head, standing up with another sigh. "I never dealt with Esmeralda when she was this young. And besides, this child acts nothing like her as well. Believe it or not, Esmeralda was far more impossible," the gypsy gave a half smirk, rolling his eyes at the memory of his younger sister. Turning to Puck, he held out his arms, still managing to retain his smirk. "Give her to me."

Puck gratefully accepted the other's invitation to take the wailing child, handing her over quickly. "Good luck…though I doubt it'll do any good. She doesn't seem to want to be around either of us at the moment."

Clopin smiled, taking his daughter into his outstretched arms. "It is only because she is young," he remarked, bouncing the girl gently in his arms as she continued to cry. "She doesn't know us well enough yet. One day, she'll get used to it all…until then, we have to teach her that we're on her side…"

Puck sighed as he watched his husband pace back and forth with their child, shaking his head slightly at the other's words. Clopin's patience managed to impress even him at times, along with his knowledge of general oddities such as their daughter. Already, the gypsy was showing signs of familiarity with the girl, despite having only truly known her for a week. He claimed that he'd known her all his life, and was only meeting with her now, which was why he happened to know so much about her. Puck remembered that he'd said the gypsy was "an odd one," and that they fit perfectly together.

"Perhaps I should sing to her," Clopin mused, humming softly to himself as he bounced the girl in his arms. Making soft "shh-ing" sounds, he moved in a small circle with the girl, mumbling the beginnings of a song for only her to hear.

"Open close me, Leave your secrets with me I can ease your pain.

My arms will be,Just like walls around you, Come in from the rain...
If you're running;In the wrong direction, I will lead you back.

When you're lost in the dark, When you're out in the cold, When you're looking for something That resembles your soul, When the wind blows your house of cards I'll be a home to your homeless heart…"

Clopin repeated the chorus of the song over a few times, his smile increasing as the girl's crying started to quiet down, allowing her to hear one of her father's comforting voices singing to her. Puck just stared at the display, jaw hanging open slightly when at last the girl grew silent. Her cries had stopped, and she was now snoring softly against the gypsy's shoulder. Clopin smiled at her for a moment, kissing the top of her head before turning to Puck with a soft smile.

"There. I thought that might do the trick," Clopin whispered, laughing gently as he continued to rock the little bundle in his arms. The fae only shook his head, a smile beginning to form as he stepped closer. Wrapping his arms around the two, he stared at the sleeping Janelle, then at Clopin with admiration in his eyes.

"Now why didn't I think of that?" He whispered back, holding them closer. "I guess she has good taste, then, to be charmed by that into sleep."

"You should have thought of that," Clopin smirked. "You're a fae; aren't you supposed to be good at this sort of thing? You could have played something on your flute to make her fall asleep."

Puck frowned a little, shaking his head firmly. "No. Not a chance. I never used magic on Alexander unless it involved a lesson or his protection; I'll not have it on our daughter," he said quietly, moving his hand to rub it protectively over the girl's head. She stirred slightly, but otherwise remained still.

Clopin couldn't help but smirk at that, leaning forward to kiss Puck's forehead gently. "How noble of you, mon amour…though I'm sure it would be a gentle sleep coming from your instrument."

"Not as gentle as from your voice," Puck smirked back, whispering teasingly to the other.

Clopin rolled his eyes, breaking free from Puck's hold momentarily. "I'll go ahead and take Janelle to bed," he said, turning to walk to the girl's bedroom, which was across the hall from their ow. "You go on to bed; I'll meet you there in a minute," the gypsy smirked, brushing the fingers of his free hand under Puck's chin. The fae smiled, floating in the direction of their open bedroom door.

Clopin smiled after him, carrying the girl towards the crib in her room. The walls of the nursery were brightly colored, the whole theme having been coordinated with the Feast of Fools(or, more likely, Clopin's wardrobe, according to Puck), which the girl seemed to somehow enjoy even at this young age. Setting her down gingerly between the bars of her crib, Clopin pulled a small pink blanket up to her little chin, rubbing a hand over her tummy as she turned in her sleep. A small piece of his heart melted as the baby reached a wrinkled hand to grab her father's finger, and it took a great amount of strength for the gypsy to find the heart to break free from her grasp. Leaning over to kiss her goodnight, Clopin reluctantly tiptoed back to he and Puck's bedroom, smiling in the direction of Janelle's as he walked.

Stepping into the larger room, Clopin smiled as he turned towards the bed, then stopped, surprised to see that Puck had practically collapsed onto the bed and was snoring soundly. Shaking his head with a small laugh, Clopin climbed onto the bed beside the other, rearranging Puck's limbs so that they fit on the his own side of the bed, and at last wrapped his arms tiredly around the other.

Smiling as Puck snuggled closer to him in his sleep, the gypsy at last shut his eyes, yawning as he began to doze off. He'd more than likely be up again in a few hours, but at least now he had a proper method to dealing with their daughter's crying. The night was growing old; time for gypsy kings to be sleeping…and gypsy princesses, too.

Chapter 7

"So, how are y'all holding up?"

Puck yawned in response to the unicorn's question, leaning forward against the table with a tired expression. Clopin was at work, which left he and Janelle home by themselves, and as the baby was currently asleep, the fae had decided to invite Taylor, Bob, and Grell over for some company. Unfortunately, he was finding it rather hard to both entertain his guests and stay awake at the same time.

"Decently, I suppose," Puck shrugged, giving a small sigh as he stared at his now empty coffee cup. "Honestly, this is the most exhausting thing I think either of us have ever attempted."

"I doubt it's that bad, Puck," Taylor smiled, taking the elf's cup to refill. "After surveying 15th Century Paris and your father, I'm pretty sure a little girl is a blessing in comparison. Besides, I thought that the both of you had raised kids before anyway?"

"You see, that's the thing! You would think that would make things easier, but we may as well have never seen a kid in our entire lives," Puck replied, gratefully taking the coffee cup back into his hands. He'd grown a small addiction to the stuff over the past few days, but didn't want to admit it. "Anyway, I didn't really 'raise' Alexander all on my own; I was more of just a part time nanny," Puck shrugged, momentarily glancing in Grell's direction as if to say, 'not a word.' "And Esmeralda showed up when she was around two or three, according to Clopin. Not just two months old."

"Oh, but it can't be all bad, can it? I mean, at least you two are able to help each other," Grell said encouragingly, smiling.

"When he's not working with the Warden, anyway," Taylor muttered, glancing in Bob's direction knowingly. The unicorn gave a snort, smirking a little when he thought of their boss and his "errands" he sent them on.

"Ay, ay; another, please. Anything to ease this dreadful fatigue."

Clopin sighed as yet another glass of wine was brought to him across the bar, gratefully putting the rim to his lips. The Warden frowned at him, but said nothing, sipping carefully on his own glass of diet coke through a straw. The gypsy had had to keep him from ordering anything alcoholic; something the Warden was beginning to think he should have done for Clopin at the moment.

"I think it's more likely that you're going to get sleepier with that stuff, Trouillefou," the man said dryly, pointing to the glass in his hand.

"No, not I, sir," Clopin smirked, already beginning to sound a bit more cheerful than before. "I become far more comfortable than some under the effects of alcohol."

The Warden muttered something under his breath about either the liver or the tab, Clopin couldn't be sure which, but the gypsy only ignored him, downing the rest of his glass rather quickly. The bartender sighed, quickly returning to refill the gypsy king's glass once more. This man certainly kept him on his toes, to say the least.

"Listen, Trouillefou…" the Warden cleared his throat, leaning forward on his elbows. "I brought you here today for a reason…I've noticed you seemed rather tired at work here lately, and I just wanted to make sure everything was going okay for you at home, ya know? So…how's things with you guys and your little one?"

Clopin's grin faltered for a moment, and he sighed, turning to stare down into his wine glass. "It's…interesting, I suppose you could say," he said after a moment, still staring into his glass. "But very tiring. I'm not used to such young children…it's already been a month, yet it still manages to feel like we'll never get used to the fact that we've got a separate life than our own to take care of."

The Warden nodded, not really sure if he understood but attempting to none the less. Not really being the "fatherly" type, the man had never really thought about having that sort of relationship with another person, much less a child.

"Well, they can be a handful, I suppose," he said after a moment, sipping on his drink. "How are you and Puck doing? The new baby causing any…problems between you two?"

Clopin looked at the Warden in surprise, a bit uncomfortable with such a personal question. Clearing his throat after a moment, he shrugged, trying to remember that the Warden was more his friend than his boss, anyway. "Fine, I suppose. I mean…we've got a bit less time to spend together, but we've both been really too tired to even think of adding something else to our daily schedules."

"Mhm, I see," the Warden nodded, flexing his fingers out in front of him. Tracing one gloved finger over a wet ring on the wooden bar, he casually remarked, "You two haven't done it in awhile, have you?"

Clopin's gaze shot back up to the other man, jaw falling open slightly in shock at the question. "S-Sir!" He said incredulously, turning his eyes back down at his drink in embarrassment. What had provoked him to ask such a thing? And where did he find the gall to do it?

After a moment or two of contemplation, however, the gypsy sighed heavily, resting his forehead against his folded arms. "It's been four weeks," the gypsy groaned, attempting a sad laugh.

The Warden gave a sympathetic smirk. "That does sound serious…you've started counting."

Clopin shook his head, looking up again with a tired expression. "It's just….we have no time anymore. We're always up with Janelle, and after we get her to sleep, we're too tired to do anything, you know?"

The Warden obviously didn't know anything about this particular subject, but nodded none the less. "It just takes time to get used to these things, Clopin. Just wait a little longer until she gets onto a normal sleeping schedule…then you'll get a chance to spend some more time with each other again, you'll see."

Clopin smiled faintly at that, nodding softly in agreement. The Warden honestly was just pulling half this advice out of his hat, and really had no idea what he was talking about, but if Clopin was happy with it, then he didn't intend on arguing with the logic.

After a moment more of contemplation, the gypsy at last stood up, reaching into his pocket for something. Putting down a few dollars at his place, he bowed his head gratefully to the bartender, then to the Warden, whom he gave a genuine smile to as well. The man briefly smiled back, then waved him away with a gloved hand, settling back in his place. As Clopin left the bar, the Warden finished his drink, then glanced at the glass, then at the bartender. "Put this on the Trouillefou tab," he smiled, pushing the glass back as he stood to leave the bar.

Puck had scarcely had the time to give his goodbyes to Taylor, Grell, and Bob before Clopin had driven into the driveway after they left, rushing in through the door just after Puck had closed it. Puck looked surprised for a moment, then nearly shocked as the gypsy pulled him into a passionate kiss, not having expect the sudden contact. After a moment or two, once he had gotten over the initial surprise, Puck responded slowly, kissing back with similar force as his husband wrapped him in his grasp.

As they pulled apart for air, Puck spoke heavily as he tried to regain his breath, "What…was that all about?"

Clopin smirked, attempting to pull the other into another kiss. "Must I have a reason for kissing you, mon amour? I just missed you, that's all."

"You've been drinking," Puck replied, holding the other back. "I think that that's more likely the reason you walked in here like some over-enthusiastic business man."

"Oh, hush. It's not like I'm drunk or anything," the gypsy rolled his eyes, still holding the other close. "The Warn simply took me out for a drink or two. Nothing too serious," he reassured, at last managing to coax the other into another kiss.

"Mhm…tastes like a few more than that," Puck said, smirking as he pulled away again. "Oh well…if it makes you act like this, I don't care how many you drank. Rawr," he breathed, snickering teasingly.

Clopin laughed, trailing his fingers along Puck's jawline and making the elf shudder. "You want me, don't you?" The gypsy teased. "Why don't we take this to the bedroom, then?"

Puck nodded eagerly, jumping up to wrap his legs around the gypsy's waist. His arms were already around Clopin's neck, and the gypsy had been holding his arms around the fae's waist, so he was able to easily stay off the ground. Kissing the other mischievously on the lips, he replied quickly, "Lead the way."

Clopin grinned, holding the other tighter as he floated up into the air, carrying both he and his husband towards the desired destination with a small laugh.

Nnng…C-Clopin!" Puck let out a short cry, clutching desperately against the gypsy's shoulders as he kissed gently at his neck. Clopin took this as something to merely egg him on, and moved more forcefully with his actions.

"Th-There! Clopin….Clopin, I'm-I'm about to…oh, god!"

The "oh god" exclamation had, unfortunately, not been influenced by Clopin's actions, but rather out of irritation with hearing a sharp cry coming from the other room across the hall. Clopin stopped, moving back away from the other's neck slowly with an exasperated sigh. Pulling away from his husband, the gypsy grabbed a pair of sweat pants from the side of the bed, putting them on with a frown. Puck sighed, sitting up and resting his face in his hands as he leaned forward against his knees.

"So much for the 'big moment,'" he rolled his eyes, sighing in unison with the other.

"If you weren't so loud," Clopin muttered, rolling his eyes as well. "We'll be lucky if she's not scarred for life after hearing all that."

Puck frowned in annoyance. "Well, you certainly weren't complaining about being loud when I was s-" The fae stopped suddenly, cut off by a louder cry coming from Janelle's bedroom. Staring off towards the hallway for a moment, Puck eventually sighed, looking back at Clopin tiredly. "We can't keep this up, love. We just can't."

"Seems like it, mon amour," Clopin nodded, standing up from the bed with another sigh. "It looks like we've got to make a decision on what's more important….ah, merde. I'll get the baby." With that, Clopin walked into Janelle's room, leaving Puck to redress himself.

After a few minutes had gone by, the gypsy returned, with a sleeping Janelle in his arms. Puck looked at him confusedly for a moment, to which the other shrugged. "Every time I try and put her down, she gets upset and won't let me leave," he explained, sitting back down with the girl still in his arms.

"So…wait. You're letting her sleep with us?" Puck asked, raising an eyebrow. Clopin gave an expression that warranted an explanation, and Puck added, "It's just…Grell told me that you're not supposed…"

Clopin stared at the other, giving a dry look when he mentioned the shinigami's name. As Puck stopped talking, even the fae was beginning to question the logic of trusting Grell, and submitted to the other's request.

"Right. Good point. Well, I suppose we'd better get some sleep, then," Puck said tiredly, yawning a little as he scooted over on the bed. Clopin moved closer, putting Janelle in between the two of them. Wrapping his arm around the girl, Puck mumbled with his eyes closed, "You know, she's gonna end up getting used to this and think that this is where she's supposed to be sleeping…"

"Heh, then we'll never get any time to ourselves," Clopin laughed, snuggling closer to his family. "Don't worry…it'll just be for tonight. It won't last."

"The last time you said that, you wound up working for the Warden full-time," Puck teased, smirking. "But if you say so, love. If you say so…"

Clopin smiled, pulling his husband and his daughter closer to his chest. Sighing tiredly, he closed his eyes, starting to doze off at last. His mind briefly flashed to what Puck had said before, but he ignored the notion that having the girl sleeping there with him for just this one night would cause some form of harm. Besides, what could happen after just one night?

This is where I'd like a little time paradox to occur. XD In the next chapter, Janelle will be about six months old.

OK the 6th chapter was super cute. I just died of cuteness overload. 7th chapter is something different. Just when it was getting sexy jay had to like cry and ruin it and I felt like "Aw damnit >:C" XDDDD And to think I'm not a slash fan XP
