Created this as to let those who didn't know of my own RPG thread started entitled "Dorothy's Asylum."
I am SUPER excited about it! We only have five members so far (eight TECHNICALLY cuz I play two characters and so does Kabuto) but if/when more people join it's looking to be a LOT of fun!
Unlike many of the other new RPG sites, this one revolves around live-action movie and TV show characters in a very DIFFERENT setting....
Plot:
Once upon a time, Dorothy Gale was a lonely, fifteen-year-old girl wishing for nothing more than excitement and adventure in her life. A chance to get away from being a farm girl and make something of herself. Then the tornado came....
....and Dorothy found herself in a magical land called "Oz" where she journeyed to a place called the "Emerald City" with a Scarecrow who wanted a brain, a tin man who wanted a heart, and a cowardly lion who wanted courage. Along the way, they were chased and kidnapped by the evil wicked witch of the west, and helped by the good witch of the north.
And Dorothy lived happily ever after in the end, when a wizard helped her find her way home, in a hot air balloon.
Or so she thought.
Because in the real world, there is no such thing as "Once Upon a Time."
And there are no "happily ever afters."
In the real world, Dorothy Gale never found her way home.
She remained trapped. Not physically--there were no prison cells, no walls blocking her freedom. In the real world, Dorothy Gale's prison was her own mind: refusing to let go of her adventures in Oz: refusing to believe that she made them all up.
And so, in the real world, Dorothy Gale is now nineteen years old.
And she is a member of the Oz Asylum.
But she isn't the only one. Surrounding Dorothy are other patients, some far more damaged than she, each suffering from their own illness. Their own delusions, or paranoia, or disorder of some kind.
Yet despite their different diagnoses, many of the patients share one common thought: they AREN'T crazy. Their adventures, histories, catastrophies DID happen, and they are, in fact, being held in Oz Asylum for a DIFFERENT reason. The only question is....
....what reason IS it? And why? Why lock up perfectly sane people? What are the doctors trying to hide?
....and how long can they REALLY expect to keep that many mentally capable people locked up? How long before someone....escapes?
If anyone's interested, please feel free to join up! I REALLY want to get things going and would LOVE to have you play
