She's Not Who they Think she is

[Professor Layton]

((This is an rp for Shayla and Layton so that he finds out her secret. This has been cleared with Shayla already.So right now, nobody sohuld come in besides Shayla.))
Professor Layton had been sitting at his desk, looking over some of the quizzes the students took. Of course, being the puzzle fanatic he is, Layton added a puzzle at the end just for fun. Not many students got that one right. He heard footsteps at the door, looking up to see who it was.

[shayla]

Shayla walked in with Faral. She had let him out to get some air. "Um, hello." she said when she noticed Layton. Faral let out a friendly growl in greeting.

[Professor Layton]

Professor Layton looked at Shayla. "Hello. Is there something you need, miss?" Layton said as he looked at the girl, but soon turned his attention to Faral. "Or does your companion need anything?" Layton really had no other words for what to call Faral.

[shayla]

"Not really, just thought you looked a little lonely." said Shayla as she smiled. Faral nodded in agreement, he remembered the day when he was given to Shayla by Mewtwo.

[Professor Layton]

"Oh. Well, that's fine. Can you tell me more about your companion here? Haven't seen any around." Professor Layton said, his dark beady eyes looking at Shayla and Faral.

[shayla]

"This is my friend Faral, he's a Charizard. My close friend Mewtwo gave him to me." she said. Shayla gasped when she realized she had said Mewtwo's name. If anyone knew that she knew Mewtwo, they'd use her to find him.

[Professor Layton]

A Charizard? Professor Hershel Layton never heard of one. Or whoever Mewtwo was. "A... Charizard? I've never heard of one. But, who's this Mewtwo? He sounds rather, interesting." he said. Professor Layton didn't know much about pokemon, nor did he have any desire to go risk his life to catch one. He'd much rather be solving puzzles and teaching.

[shayla]

Shayla sighed. "I guess I should tell you the truth, all of it." she said as she stared at him. "I am Latias. After the event at Alto Mare, Arceus called a meeting. She decided it wasn't safe for me to stay at my home. She changed me into a human and Mewtwo gave me Faral." she explained as she was glad that Layton didn't work for Team Rocket.

[Professor Layton]

Latias? Why in the world would Shayla need to change her name from that? Professor Layton knew why. It was like Claire changing her name to Celeste when she was in the future. If no one knew who she was, then everyone would be safe. Of course, Claire had a bit of a different reason perhaps. To keep herself from disrupting the flow of time by staying with Layton.

"I haven't heard of Latias either. But, I'll keep your secret. It's not like a gentleman to say private things to others." Professor Layton said as he looked at Shayla. She said she was turned human. "Claire. That's who you remind me of."

[shayla]

Shayla smiled. "I had to go under the name of Shayla because I can't just walk around calling myself Latias." she said as she grinned at Faral.

[Professor Layton]

Yes, Latias would be strange for a human to be called. "Yes. I knew a woman who had an alias. Her name was Claire. We dated in college, but the day she gave me my top hat, she was sent to the future. But, due to the instability of the time machine she was in, she couldn't live in her own time. So, ten years in the future, or around a year or so ago now, she stayed in our time. Luke, my apprentice and I were solving a mystery. We found her, but she called herself Celeste, younger sister of Claire." Layton said before pausing.

"When we solved the mystery, a young man was arrested. His parents were killed along with Claire. He wanted revenge and tried to destroy London, but that didn't work out. Claire told us her true identity, and had to go back to her own time to keep the balance of time right. And then, she was... gone." professor Layton shook his head with a sigh. "But don't worry. You'll be fine. Is there anything I can do for you, though? I can get you a cup of tea if you like it."
