Haven't heard of Drill Boy, but I think I might remember Zako Blue, just because I watched that show a long time ago. Me and my brother even had toys of the green robots. Of course, now I can't remember their names. Oh wait, they were Zako. XD

The green robots were called Zakos, but the hosts of the little show at the end were named after their microphone colors by the small but rabid fandom.

Brawly, one of the Gym Leaders from Pokémon (he'd be a gym teacher & the swim coach since in the anime he's a surfer), and Launch from DragonBall (as a student, because she's awesome, almost as kickass as Faye, and she'd be a good confliction plot because of her multiple personalities).
