Soul kind of wanted Maka to do that tradition with him, even if it was probably just some stupid story. But he shouldn't be thinking that way again, it was what had started the fight and all this drama lately. He just kinda ignored the subject for now.
"Yeah, resolution #1." Soul said as he took his hand and shook it "But how 'bout I show you how I do hand shakes and greetings?"

He was happy to have his offer taken, but seeing the time, he was already looking over at Maka, "10 seconds... 9... 8..." He was like a little kid with the countdown!

She couldn't tell what was wrong with Soul lately. She was still trying to go threw the whole ordeal with what had happened after the fight. She smiled at him when he took the offer though.
"7...6...5," she said.

Ino quickly ran into the room with a smile on her face. "I hope i didn't miss anything." she said quickly as she brushed her hair. Just her luck, she had nearly missed the biggest time of New's year the countdown, soon it would be midnight. She was wearing a dark rose colored dress with her hair up in a pony tail. The dress was long and almost covered her legs if it wasn't for the slit on the right side

Soul snickered as everyone counted down.
"One!" he yelled in unison with everyone. Finally the new year. Maybe this one'd be better than the last year'd been.

"Happy New Year!" Maka shouted. She smiled and grabbed onto Soul and Hanna's hands.

"Happy new year!" Hanna sighed. So no new year's kiss for him, huh. That sorta set off mixed signals for the redhead.

Maka smiled at Hanna before planting a kiss on his cheek. She turned to Soul and kissed his cheek as well. That way neither of them would feel left out.

It just wasn't the same. Hanna smiled, but decided it was probably best to give Maka some space, especially if she didn't want to share a REAL New Year's kiss with him. Probably she'd love him more if he stopped being so clingy, right?

Soul smirked "Happy new year." he said. Maka sure was being confusing, taking both their hands and looking at both of them the same ways sometimes. But he'd let things play out, worrying wasn't his thing.

Maka nudged Hanna lightly giving him a large smile. She kissed him quickly and pulled back. She didn't want him to be sad.

Hanna blushed. It may not have been at midnight, but that calmed his fears. A little. Hopefully his little double date plan with Zara and Astrid would work a little in his favor, too.

Ino smiled as she watched the couples in turn kiss each other as a significance as the new year. She knew something was different about this school. No one was fighting tonight, not yet anyways. So far everything was good. However....something else was bothering her. Everyone here it seemed to her had someone to celebrate the new year with. But not her. "Oh well....can't get everything i guess." she muttered sadly

Kiki grinned as she shouted 'One' and stood closer to Kid, putting her arms around his neck and leaning forward to kiss him on the lips.
Blair giggled and was more forward with Ikuto, grabbing the sides of his face and pulling it down to hers.
Elliot smiled and looked down at Utau. "Shall we?" He laughed and leaned closer to her, resting his forehead on hers.
Tsubaki looked down and gasped. "Blair, your amazing!" She laughed to herself as she saw the silver dress, which almost met her knees. One arm was longer than the other, and it looked awesome. But the only boy she liked wasn't here, she was sure of that. Black Star wouldn't let himself be unnoticed at a party like this.
