Maka didn't open her eyes, but she felt Hanna's hand leave her's.
"Why'd you let go?" she asked quietly.
She missed the pressure of his hand immediatly. It made her feel safe here. With it gone she was already starting to freak out.

"I thought you didn't want to talk to me," Hanna reached back over to take her hand, "You wouldn't tell me what's wrong." His voice was weak from lack of sleep and constant worry. He just wanted to be able to hold her again and pretend none of this had ever happened.

"It's not something you need to worry about," Maka said softly, drifting into sleep, "I'm not mad at you, or Soul. I'm mad at myself..."
She gave his hand a light sqweeze before falling back asleep.

Hanna held her hand tight and whispered, "I always worry about you. I just wanna know what you were dreaming about." Flora still rubbed his back.
"Honey, sometimes girls can be stubborn like that," Flora cooed, "She'll tell you when she's ready."
Hanna ignored Flora, eyes locked on Maka, "I love you. I always will." He rubbed his sleepy eyes to force himself awake again, and held on tight.

Maka woke up to a slight pain in her hand. She looked down to where Hanna's hand was gripping tightly onto hers. She looked over at the boy and poked his nose.
"What did I say about sleep?" she asked.

"No sleep until you're okay. Until we're okay," Hanna's voice was barely above a whisper now, due to staying up for hours. It was 3 AM now, and his eyes were bleary, but he knew what was important. "How are you feeling?" He slacked his grip on her hand.

"I'm fine," she said shaking her head at Hanna, "Go to sleep Hanna you're about to drop. We're fine alright?"
She looked around for the nurse and sqweezed his hand. He needed to sleep, right now if possible.

Hanna shook his head and smiled, lacing his fingers into Maka's, careful of the IV in her veins. He gave a goofy smile, and decided to play her game, "I'm fine."

"No you're not," she said with a pointed look, "I've seen a zombie look more alive than you do right now. Sleep Mr. Cross or I'll have the nurse make you."
She stuck her tounge out at him. Hanna could be as stubborn as her sometimes.

Hanna stuck his tongue out playfully, "I'm fiiiiine~" He still had SOME energy, now that he was playing back. He enjoyed when they could be silly together, and it reassured him that Maka wasn't gonna leave him or angry or anything like that. They really were okay.

"Nurse," Maka called out, "He's not sleeping that can't be good for his health!"
She looked over at Hanna and made a goofy face. She hoped she'd win this one. That or the nurse would make Hanna sleep.

Hanna laughed, "Flora, don't listen to her, she's delirious!" The redhead giggled and scrunched up his face. This was fun.

"Am not!" Maka said with a laugh, "He's the one that has dark circels under his eyes!"
She pouted at him hoping that would get him to cave and go to sleep.

"I'm not going to sleep," Hanna smiled, "Not until you get out of here."
Flora smiled, "Miss Albarn, you're gonna be here a little longer. You still don't have your muscles rested enough to regain their strength. At least your legs and arms. They took quite the impact, from what Mr. Cross told me."

Maka flinched and gave Hanna a look that said 'you turn Soul in'. If Soul got in trouble it be her fault she was worried that Hanna had turned in her best friend for trying to help her.
"It's really nothing," she said, "I've had worse."
