First Date First dates were always akward. Especially when they were with your best friend.
Clopin was thinking this as he glanced across the small space of the front seat of his car towards his best--no, his boyfriend, Puck. He assumed that Puck was thinking the same thing, as he was nervously staring out the front window, his right elbow propped up against the side of his face.
It was quite unlike his natural behavior of whenever he was in Clopin's car. Normally, he would have his hands put up behind his head, his feet set on the dashboard comfortably. As though it were his own. But now, he was leaning against the closed door, a nervous expression on his pale face, almost cowering away from the other boy. Puck seemed smaller than usual, now that his comfortable, upbeat nature seemed to have been shedded for this timid, nervous one.
Clopin sighed, leaning against his own car door. They were currently parked at the town's old-as-crap drive in movie theater, trying to stomach quite possibly the worst movie that Clopin had ever seen. It had been suggested to him by pretty much the entire female population of his class, and they ahd all claimed that it was an incredibly romantic picture and they had all been dying to go see it.
So much for trusting girls, Clopin thought to himself, rolling his eyes. He glanced over at Puck again, stifling a laugh when he saw the boy's disgusted expression at the screen.
"All superhero stuff right? But what if I'm not the hero? What if I am the bad guy?"
Clopin groaned at the over dramatic teen angst that played out across the screen, turning to Puck with a grin. Puck looked back, smiling a little with a short laugh. After a moment of awkward silence, Clopin cleared his throat, determined to fill the space with conversation.
"Forgive me for dragging you to this drip fest. I had no idea that it would be this terrible," he smiled appologetically.
Puck smiled back. "Don't worry about it. I mean, it's not so...alright, I'm not gonna lie, this is the crappiest movie I've ever seen," Puck laughed, shaking his head.
Clopin laughed back, glad that they wre at least talking again. "Well, you can't blame me for mistaking the plot of this movie. I figured that a vampire movie would at least have a little more action in it." The gypsy shrugged, looking back up at the screen. I thought that it might have some scary parts, too, he thought to himself, looking down for a moment. He knew that Puck wasn't a fan of horror films, and he also knew that Puck would have clung to him if the movie had frightened him. He had in the past, anyway.
This wasn't their first time at the drive in. In fact, they had been countless times before, starting when they were around ten, and continuing on until highschool. But this was their first time as a couple...
"I don't have the strength to stay away from you anymore." "Then don't."
"WHAT is so desirable about her?"
Clopin turned suddenly at Puck's outburst. The paler boy was looking at the screen in disbelief. The gypsy raised an eyebrow, smirking with a chuckle. "I was just wondering the same thing myself."
Puck shook his head, eyes still on the movie. "I mean, she has no personality, can't stand on her own two feet for more than four seconds, and God, if she would just stop biting her freakin' lip!" Puck leaned back with a frustrated sigh, holding his hands up to motion at the screen.
Clopin laughed at the other, sliding closer on the seat. "I agree. She's really not even that attractive," he said, eying Puck with a grin. She'd look much better with white hair, maybe a pair of skinny jeans and some converse...
His thoughts trailed off, and Clopin stared at Puck, biting his own lip as his eyes drifted over his figure. Puck felt his stare, and turned, blushing a little at the other's gaze. Trying to keep up the conversation, he smirked, rolling his eyes at the gypsy.
"Oh no, not you too," he laughed, pointed at the way clopin was biting his lip. Clopin blinked, blushing a little as his thoughts were interrupted. Smirking, he narrowed his eyes, leaning closer in the seat.
"Well, what do you propose I do with my lips, hmm mon amour?" Clopin grinned, his eyes half closed.
Puck felt his face grow warm, and he looked away nervously. "Well, er...I-I don't know," he said, biting his own lip now. Glancing up at the screen, he saw that the two protagonists were now in the girl's bedroom, sharing what looked like a tense kiss.
"Maybe something like that," he peeped, his voice a bit higher than normal.
Clopin glanced up at the movie, his eyes widening a little when he saw what they were doing. Heart hammering in his ears, he swallowed, moving closer to the other boy. Reaching over, he gently took hold of Puck's chin, pulling it up so that the other was now looking at him. Slowly, he closed the space between their lips, closing his eyes as he did. Gradually, Puck's lips responded, and they continued like that for a minute.
Clopin eased the other onto his back after a moment, leaning over top of him on the seat of the car. Puck's heartbeat sped up as he felt his back press against the worn material of the seat. Trying to make himself calm down, he eased a hand onto the back of the other's head, knitting his fingers into Clopin's dark hair.
"I hate you for making me want you so much."
Clopin's eyes widened as Puck ran his fingers through his hair, and his own heart sped up at the sensation. He pulled back, pausing to catch his breath.
"I like watching you sleep. I find it fascinating."
They each blinked simultaneously at the line from the movie. From his place leaning above the other, Clopin hesitated into a laugh, Puck eventually joining him.
"Oh. oh mon dieu," Clopin said through his laughter. "I'm sorry, but that was...that had to be the creepiest non-horror movie quote ever."
Puck struggled to stop his laughter, nodding to what the other had said. "Alright, enough of this sappy, unbelievable crap. What do you say we show these kiddies how a real teenage romance works?" Puck grinned, propping himself up on one elbow while his other hand reached up behind Clopin's neck. The gypsy grinned in response, and with that, they continued their little kissing session.
Several minutes later, they could hear the sound of other cars pulling away around them. Blinking in surprise, they each pulled apart, Clopin sticking his head up to glance through the windows. He smirked when he saw how fogged up they were, and wiped away a a small round hole to peek through.
Everyone around them seemed to be leaving, as the movie appeared to be over. Puck sat up, frowning in dismay.
"Crap, how long were we making out?" He blinked, looking back at the other.
Clopin shrugged, frowning a little himself. With a sigh, he slid back into the driver's seat. Buckling up, he motioned for Puck to do the same.
"So...how do you think it ended?" Puck questioned.
Clopin smiled, trying to start the car but with little luck. "I don't know, but I hope that it involved that girl's death. Why don't we just say that that Edward fellow ended up with the werewolf and be done with it?"
Puck smirked, laughing. "Sounds good to me. Though I must admit, that movie looks a lot better lying on your back."
Clopin laughed, at last getting the car to start. Staring out the window, he blinked, rubbing furiously at the glass for a second to clear away some of the condensation. "Wait a minute...is that...Aurora's car?" He looked back at Puck, pointing to a pink covertable with the top up. The car seemed to be bouncing in place, the back end moving steadily up and down.
"I...I think it is," Puck answered, a smirk coming over his face. "Well, I'm sure that she enjoyed the movie."
"Most definitely," Clopin replied, smiling as he backed the car out of the parking lot. As the drove onto the road, he couldn't help but glance at Puck now and then, a smirk coming on whenever he did. Puck eventually caught him doing so, and raised an eyebrow, and amused smile catching hold of his face.
"What?"
Clopin shook his head. "Well, I'd saw that our first date went pretty well, wouldn't you?" He asked, reaching across the back of the seat to put an arm around Puck. The other boy smiled, scooting closer to lean his head against Clopin's shoulder.
"Sure did," he replied, leaning up to kiss Clopin's cheek tenderly. Clopin's smile grew broader, and he pulled the other closer, his car lights casting shadows further down the quiet road up ahead.
And so the gypsy fell in love with the fae... ===== *NOTE: All Twilight quotes (c) Stephanie Meyer and Summit Entertainment. If you are a Twilight fan and you are offended by this, I apologize. This is not necessarily my opinion of the series, it is merely the opinion that I feel the characters would have towards it.

The Ship Of Dreams Chapter 1:Fate Starts In A Funny Way I was nineteen. Fully grown, ready to take life by the reigns. Little did I know that fate had decided to take me for a little ride instead. My name is Robin Goodfellow Fae. I was born on May 12th, 1883. My parents were Oberon and Titania Fae, rest their souls. I lived a fairly comfortable life, my parents' wealth greatly surpassing that of many of our friends and neighbors. Not that I cared much. I found myself lucky to be alive, and the rest of the world seemed to be just rushing past me so fast that I had no idea what was going on. I had always been a bit of a daydreamer. In April of 1912, my family and I were to board the Titanic. A questionable voyage on my part but none the less my parents thought it to be a wise decision. Especially considering that fact that there were to be plenty of rich nobles there with eligible young daughters. I was expected to be engaged to some flouncy young lady with a large dowry by the time we reached the end of our voyage. It was there by the docks that I first saw him. There were several men and women alike that had been hired to work as a maintenance crew on the ship, and a small crowd of men could be seen heaving large crates of luggage and cargo aboard the ship. Most of them were of a far darker skin tone than I, and they were obviously members of a foreign race. He was among them, bent over a wooden crate on the ground. He wore the attire of a poor man, as did the rest of them. The tan skin of his arms glistened with sweat, and as he placed the crate where it belonged, he paused to wipe a line of moisture from his forehead. His shoulder-length black hair framed the sides of his face, which he reached up a gloved hand to brush behind his ear. Our eyes met, and he blinked, frowning slightly. At first, I was embarrassed for staring, but for some reason, I continued to do so. He was an odd looking fellow. Tan skin, thin frame, and fairly tall. And warm brown eyes that would make a sparrow stop in flight. Glancing towards one of our servants, I asked, "Warren, do you notice anything odd about that working chap over there?" Warren looked up to where I motioned. Shaking his old head, he gave me a smile. "Nope. Just another Frog, sir. Nasty trash. Best to keep away." "Yes, it would be," my father suddenly spoke up. He gave me a familiarly stern gaze. "Gypsy vermin. No telling what kind of mess he'd bring along with him." I rolled my eyes, my gaze drifting back towards him again. He was turned away now, laughing with one of the others about something or other. He seemed like a hard worker, and an interesting companion for this bore of a voyage. The ship would be docked for the next few days, as there were several more passengers to arrive within the next week. That was plenty of time to be spent alone... "Sir, that should be the last of the crates," Warren spoke up again, his cockney accent mixed in with the words. "Right. That'll do then, Warren," Oberon nodded. "Alright then, let's board this vessel." Warren nodded, carrying my parent's carry on bag. My mother made her way up the gangplank, my father close behind, along with several of my siblings. I started to follow them, but stooped myself, a bit curious still about that worker. Hanging back, I watched as the others went on up. "You there!" I called out towards the man. He glanced up, along with the rest of his friends. "Sir?" He asked, raising an eyebrow. I made my way over, nodding as I walked. "My footman is on leave. Would you care to trade your job as a porter for the position of my assistant?" I asked clearly, holding my hands behind my back. He looked towards his friends, smirking a little as a few of them laughed. "And what do you offer in return, sir? This job pays fairly well, and I'm fed two meals a day." Without a word, I pulled a bag of coins from my pocket. Tossing it towards him, I couldn't help but smirk as I watched him open the bag with wonder. He was clearly impressed. "I guarantee you that I'll pay you double what they're giving you now, and I'll give you three meals a day." The man blinked, clearing his throat after a moment. "You make a good offer, sir," he smiled. "Hey, he said he'd pay you double, that's at least triple, man," on of the gypsies whispered. "Shut up," he hissed back, elbowing the man as he looked back up at me. "I'd be delighted to serve you, sir," he said, bowing a bit. "Excellent," I smiled, motioning for him to follow. With a grin to his comrades, he went after me, keeping in step behind where I walked. "What is your name?" I said, making my way up the gangplank. "Uh, Trouillefou, sir. Clopin Trouillefou." ---
